11.

1 <행동하는 믿음> 믿음은 바라는 것들의 실체이며 보지 못하는 것들의 증거입니다.

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 참으로 조상들은 이 믿음으로 인정을 받았습니다.

2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

3 믿음으로 우리는 온 세상이 하나님의 말씀으로 창조됐고 따라서 보이는 것은 나타난 것으로 말미암아 지어지지 않은 것을 압니다.

3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

4 믿음으로 아벨은 가인보다 더 나은 제사를 하나님께 드렸고 이로써 그는 의롭다는 인정을 받았습니다. 하나님께서 그의 예물에 대해 인정해 주셨습니다. 그는 죽었지만 믿음으로 여전히 말하고 있습니다.

4 By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.

5 믿음으로 에녹은 죽음을 보지 않고 들림을 받았습니다. 하나님께서 그를 데려가셨기 때문에 그는 더 이상 보이지 않았습니다. 들려 가기 전에 그는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 사람이라는 인정을 받았습니다.

5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

6 믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없습니다. 그러므로 하나님께 나아가는 사람은 하나님이 계신 것과 하나님은 그분을 간절히 찾는 사람들에게 상 주시는 분임을 믿어야 합니다.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

7 믿음으로 노아는 아직 보지 못하는 일들에 대해 경고를 받고 자기 집안의 구원을 위해 경외함으로 방주를 지었으며 이로 인해 그는 세상을 단죄했습니다. 또한 그는 믿음으로 인해 의의 상속자가 됐습니다.

7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

8 믿음으로 아브라함은 부르심을 받았을 때 순종해 장차 유업으로 받을 곳으로 나아갔습니다. 그런데 그는 어디로 가는지 알지 못하고 나아갔습니다.

8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

9 믿음으로 그는 약속의 땅에서 다른 나라에 사는 이방 사람처럼 잠시 머물렀는데 그는 동일한 약속을 함께 받은 이삭과 야곱과 더불어 장막에 거했습니다.

9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;

10 이것은 그가 하나님께서 친히 설계하시고 건축하신 견고한 터 위에 세워진 도시를 고대했기 때문입니다.

10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11 믿음으로 아브라함은 비록 그 자신이 너무 늙고 사라도 단산됐지만 임신할 수 있는 능력을 얻었습니다. 이는 그가 약속하신 분을 신실한 분으로 여겼기 때문입니다.

11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

12 이렇게 해서 죽은 사람이나 다름없는 한 사람에게서 하늘의 수많은 별과 같이 그리고 바닷가의 셀 수 없는 모래와 같이 수많은 자손들이 태어났습니다.

12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude--innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

13 이 모든 사람들은 믿음을 따라 살다가 죽었습니다. 그들은 약속하신 것들을 받지 못했지만 그것들을 멀리서 보고 환영했으며 세상에서는 외국 사람이며 나그네임을 고백했습니다.

13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

14 이렇게 말하는 사람들은 자신들이 본향을 찾는 사람들임을 분명히 보여 줍니다.

14 For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland.

15 만일 그들이 떠나온 곳을 생각하고 있었다면 돌아갈 기회가 있었을 것입니다.

15 And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return.

16 그러나 그들은 이제 더 나은 곳을 사모하는데 그것은 하늘에 있는 것입니다. 그러므로 하나님께서도 그들의 하나님이라 불리는 것을 부끄러워하지 않으시고 그들을 위해 한 도시를 예비하셨습니다.

16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

17 믿음으로 아브라함은 시험을 받을 때 이삭을 바쳤습니다. 그는 약속들을 받은 사람이면서도 자기 외아들을 기꺼이 바치려 했습니다.

17 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

18 하나님께서 전에 말씀하시기를 "네 자손이라고 불릴 사람은 이삭으로 말미암을 것이다"라고 하셨습니다.

18 of whom it was said, "In Isaac your seed shall be called,"

19 아브라함은 하나님께서 죽은 사람도 살리실 수 있다고 생각했습니다. 그러므로 비유로 말하자면 그는 이삭을 죽은 사람들로부터 돌려받은 것입니다.

19 concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.

20 믿음으로 이삭은 장래 일을 두고 야곱과 에서를 축복했습니다.

20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

21 믿음으로 야곱은 죽을 때 요셉의 아들들을 각각 축복했으며 자기 지팡이 머리에 몸을 기대며 하나님께 경배했습니다.

21 By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.

22 믿음으로 요셉은 죽을 때에 이스라엘 자손이 이집트에서 떠날 것에 대해 말했고 자기의 뼈에 대해 지시했습니다.

22 By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.

23 믿음으로 모세의 부모는 모세가 출생했을 때 그 아이를 석 달 동안 숨겼습니다. 이는 그 아이가 남다른 것을 보고 왕의 명령을 무서워하지 않았기 때문입니다.

23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's command.

24 믿음으로 모세는 다 자란 후에 바로의 딸의 아들이라 불리는 것을 거부했습니다.

24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter,

25 그는 잠시 죄의 쾌락을 즐기는 것보다 오히려 하나님의 백성과 함께 고난받기를 더 좋아했습니다.

25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,

26 그는 그리스도를 위해 당하는 수모를 이집트의 보화보다 더 가치 있는 것으로 여겼습니다. 이는 그가 상을 바라보았기 때문입니다.

26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.

27 믿음으로 모세는 왕의 진노를 두려워하지 않고 이집트를 떠났습니다. 그는 보이지 않는 분을 보는 것같이 여기고 인내했습니다.

27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.

28 믿음으로 그는 유월절과 피 뿌리는 의식을 행해 처음 난 것들을 죽이는 자가 그들을 해치지 못하도록 했습니다.

28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

29 믿음으로 이스라엘 백성은 마른 땅을 건너듯 홍해를 건넜습니다. 그러나 이집트 사람들은 똑같이 행하려다가 물에 빠져 죽었습니다.

29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.

30 믿음으로 이스라엘 백성이 7일 동안 여리고 성을 돌자 그 성벽이 무너져 내렸습니다.

30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.

31 믿음으로 창녀 라합은 정탐꾼들을 평안히 맞아들여 불순종한 사람들과 함께 죽지 않았습니다.

31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.

32 그리고 또 내가 무슨 말을 더 하겠습니까? 기드온, 바락, 삼손, 입다, 다윗 그리고 사무엘과 예언자들에 대해 이야기하자면 시간이 모자랄 것입니다.

32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:

33 그들은 믿음으로 나라들을 정복하기도 하고 의를 행하기도 하고 약속들을 받기도 하고 사자들의 입을 막기도 하고

33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

34 불의 능력을 꺾기도 하고 칼날을 피하기도 하고 연약한 데서 강하게 되기도 하고 전쟁에서 용맹한 사람들이 되기도 하고 이방 군대를 물리치기도 했습니다.

34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

35 여인들은 자신의 죽은 사람들을 부활로 되돌려 받기도 했습니다. 또 어떤 이들은 고문을 당했지만 더 나은 삶으로 부활하기 위해 풀려나기를 원하지 않았습니다.

35 Women received their dead raised to life again. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.

36 또 어떤 사람들은 조롱과 채찍질을 당했으며 심지어 결박되고 투옥되기까지 했습니다.

36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.

37 그들은 돌에 맞았고 톱질을 당했고 칼로 죽임을 당했습니다. 그들은 양가죽과 염소 가죽을 입고 떠돌아다녔으며 그들은 가난했고 고난을 당했고 학대를 받았습니다.

37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented--

38 (세상은 그들에게 가치가 없었습니다.) 그래서 그들은 광야와 산과 동굴과 땅굴 등에서 떠돌며 살았습니다.

38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.

39 그런데 이들은 모두 믿음으로 증거를 받았지만 약속하신 것을 받지 못했습니다.

39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise,

40 하나님께서는 우리를 위해 더 나은 것을 예비해 놓으심으로 우리 없이는 그들이 온전해지지 못하도록 하신 것입니다.

40 God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.

12.

1 이와 같이 우리를 둘러싼 구름같이 많은 증인들이 있으니 모든 짐과 얽매이기 쉬운 죄를 벗어 버리고 인내로써 우리 앞에 놓인 경주를 합시다.

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

2 믿음의 창시자요, 완성자이신 예수를 바라봅시다. 그는 자기 앞에 놓여 있는 기쁨을 위해 부끄러움을 개의치 않으시고 십자가를 참으셨습니다. 그래서 그는 하나님의 보좌 오른편에 앉게 되셨습니다.

2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 여러분, 거역하는 죄인들을 참으신 분을 생각하십시오. 그리하여 지쳐 낙심하지 마십시오.

3 For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

4 <하나님은 아들들을 연단하신다> 여러분이 죄와 싸웠지만 아직 피를 흘릴 정도로 대항하지는 않았습니다.

4 You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.

5 또한 여러분은 하나님께서 아들들을 대하듯이 여러분에게 하신 권면의 말씀을 잊었습니다. 이르시기를 "내 아들아, 주의 훈계를 가볍게 여기지 말고 그가 책망하실 때 낙심하지 마라.

5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: "My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;

6 주께서는 사랑하시는 사람을 연단하시고 아들로 받으신 사람들마다 채찍질하신다" 라고 하셨습니다.

6 For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives."

7 연단을 견뎌 내십시오. 하나님께서는 여러분을 아들들같이 대하십니다. 아버지가 연단하지 않는 아들이 어디 있습니까?

7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?

8 아들이 받는 모든 연단을 여러분이 받지 않는다면 여러분은 사생자며 아들이 아닙니다.

8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

9 우리는 우리를 연단하는 육신의 아버지를 모시고 그분들을 존경합니다. 그러니 우리가 모든 영의 아버지께 더욱 복종하며 살아야 하지 않겠습니까?

9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?

10 육신의 아버지는 자기가 좋다고 생각하는 대로 우리를 잠시 연단하지만 영의 아버지께서는 우리의 유익을 위해 그분의 거룩하심에 참여하도록 연단하십니다.

10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.

11 모든 연단이 당시에는 즐거움이 아니라 괴로움으로 보이지만 나중에는 그것을 통해 연단된 사람들에게 의로운 평화의 열매를 맺게 합니다.

11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

12 그러므로 여러분은 피곤한 팔과 연약한 무릎을 강하게 하십시오.

12 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees,

13 그리고 여러분의 발을 위해 길을 곧게 하십시오. 그래서 절뚝거리는 다리로 어긋나지 않게 하고 오히려 치유를 받게 하십시오.

13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.

14 <경고와 격려> 모든 사람과 더불어 화평과 거룩함을 추구하십시오. 이것 없이는 아무도 주를 보지 못할 것입니다.

14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:

15 하나님의 은혜에 이르지 못하는 사람이 없도록 주의하십시오. 또한 쓴 뿌리가 돋아나 문제를 일으키고 그로 인해 많은 사람들이 더럽혀지지 않도록 조심하십시오.

15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;

16 또한 음행하는 사람이나 음식 한 그릇에 자신의 장자권을 판 에서와 같이 세속적인 사람이 없도록 살피십시오.

16 lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.

17 여러분이 알다시피 에서는 후에 복을 상속받고 싶어 했지만 거절당했습니다. 그가 눈물로 복을 구했지만 회개할 기회를 얻지 못했습니다.

17 For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.

18 <두려움의 산과 기쁨의 산> 여러분이 나아가 도착한 곳은 시내 산 같은 곳이 아닙니다. 곧 손으로 만질 수 있고 불이 타오르며 어둡고 깜깜하며 폭풍과

18 For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest,

19 나팔 소리와 말씀하시는 음성이 들리는 곳과 같지 않습니다. 그 음성을 들은 사람들은 하나님께서 자기들에게 더 이상 말씀하지 않기를 애원했습니다.

19 and the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, so that those who heard it begged that the word should not be spoken to them anymore.

20 그들이 "짐승이라도 그 산에 닿으면 돌에 맞아 죽게 하라"라고 하신 명령을 감당하지 못했기 때문입니다.

20 (For they could not endure what was commanded: "And if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned or shot with an arrow."

21 그 광경이 얼마나 무서웠던지 모세도 "나는 너무 두렵고 떨린다"라고 말했습니다.

21 And so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, "I am exceedingly afraid and trembling.")

22 그러나 여러분이 나아가 다다른 곳은 시온 산, 곧 살아 계신 하나님의 도시인 하늘의 예루살렘입니다. 또한 여러분은 잔치에 운집한 수많은 천사들의 무리와

22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,

23 하늘에 등록된 장자들의 교회와 만물의 심판주이신 하나님과 완전하게 된 의인들의 영들과

23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24 새 언약의 중보자이신 예수와 아벨의 피보다 더 나은 소식을 전해 준 예수께서 뿌리신 피에 이르렀습니다.

24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

25 여러분은 말씀하시는 분을 거역하지 않도록 조심하십시오. 만일 땅에서 경고하신 분을 거역한 그들이 피하지 못했다면 하물며 우리가 하늘로부터 경고하시는 분을 배척하고 어찌 피할 수 있겠습니까?

25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,

26 그때는 그 음성이 땅을 흔들었지만 이제는 그분이 약속해 말씀하셨습니다. "내가 또 한 번 땅뿐 아니라 하늘까지도 흔들 것이다."

26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven."

27 이 '또 한 번'이라 함은 흔들리지 않는 것들을 남겨 두려고 흔들리는 것들, 곧 피조물들을 제거해 버리시려는 것을 뜻합니다.

27 Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28 그러므로 우리가 흔들리지 않는 나라를 받았으니 감사합시다. 이렇게 해 경건함과 두려움으로 하나님을 합당하게 섬깁시다.

28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

29 우리 하나님께서는 태워 없애는 불이시기 때문입니다.

29 For our God is a consuming fire.

13.

1 <마지막 권고> 형제 사랑하기를 지속하십시오.

1 Let brotherly love continue.

2 나그네 대접하기를 소홀히 하지 마십시오. 어떤 사람들은 나그네를 대접하다가 자기도 모르게 천사들을 대접했습니다.

2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.

3 여러분은 자신이 함께 갇혀 있는 것처럼 감옥에 갇힌 사람들을 기억하십시오. 여러분도 몸을 가진 사람들이니 학대받는 사람들을 기억하십시오.

3 Remember the prisoners as if chained with them--those who are mistreated--since you yourselves are in the body also.

4 모든 사람은 결혼을 귀하게 여기고 잠자리를 더럽히지 마십시오. 하나님께서는 음란한 사람들과 간음하는 사람들을 심판하실 것입니다.

4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

5 돈을 사랑하며 살지 말고 지금 갖고 있는 것으로 만족하십시오. 주께서는 친히 "내가 결코 너를 떠나지 않겠고 또 결코 버리지 않을 것이다"라고 말씀하셨습니다.

5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."

6 그러므로 우리는 담대히 말합니다. "주는 나를 돕는 분이시니 나는 두려워하지 않을 것이다. 사람이 나를 어찌하겠는가?"

6 So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

7 하나님의 말씀을 여러분에게 전해 준 여러분의 지도자들을 기억하십시오. 그들이 산 삶의 결과를 살펴보고 그 믿음을 본받으십시오.

7 Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.

8 예수 그리스도께서는 어제나 오늘이나 영원토록 한결같으신 분입니다.

8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

9 여러분은 갖가지 이상한 가르침에 끌려다니지 마십시오. 마음은 음식이 아니라 은혜로 견고하게 하는 것이 좋습니다. 음식에 집착한 사람들은 유익을 얻지 못했습니다.

9 Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.

10 우리에게는 한 제단이 있습니다. 그런데 장막에서 섬기는 사람들은 그 제단에서 먹을 권한이 없습니다.

10 We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.

11 이는 그 짐승의 피는 죄를 위해 대제사장이 지성소로 갖고 들어가고 그 몸은 진 밖에서 불태워지기 때문입니다.

11 For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp.

12 이와 같이 예수께서도 자신의 피로 백성을 거룩하게 하시려고 성문 밖에서 고난을 당하셨습니다.

12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

13 그러므로 우리도 그분의 치욕을 짊어지고 진 밖으로 그분에게 나아갑시다.

13 Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.

14 우리는 이 땅 위의 영원한 도시가 아니라 다만 장차 올 도시를 갈망하고 있기 때문입니다.

14 For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.

15 그러므로 우리가 그분을 통해 항상 하나님께 찬양의 제사를 드립시다. 이것은 그분의 이름을 고백하는 입술의 열매입니다.

15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

16 그리고 선행과 나눔을 소홀히 하지 마십시오. 하나님께서는 이런 제사를 기뻐하십니다.

16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

17 여러분을 인도하는 사람들을 신뢰하고 순종하십시오. 이는 그들이 여러분의 영혼을 위해 마치 자신들이 하나님께 아뢰야 할 사람들인 것처럼 깨어 있기 때문입니다. 그들로 하여금 기쁨으로 이 일을 행하게 하고 근심함으로 행하지 않게 하십시오. 그렇지 않으면 여러분에게 유익이 되지 못할 것입니다.

17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

18 우리를 위해 기도해 주십시오. 우리는 모든 일을 올바르게 행하며 선한 양심을 갖고 있다고 확신합니다.

18 Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably.

19 내가 여러분에게 더 빨리 돌아갈 수 있도록 더욱 열심히 기도해 주십시오.

19 But I especially urge you to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

20 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

21 그분의 뜻을 행할 수 있도록 모든 선한 것으로 여러분을 온전케 해 주시기를 원합니다. 또한 하나님께서 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 그분에게 기쁨이 되는 것을 우리 안에서 행하시기를 원합니다. 하나님께 영광이 영원무궁하기를 빕니다. 아멘.

21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

22 형제 여러분, 내가 여러분에게 권합니다. 이 권면의 말을 용납하십시오. 내가 여러분에게 간단히 썼습니다.

22 And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words.

23 Know that our brother Timothy has been set free, with whom I shall see you if he comes shortly.

24 Greet all those who rule over you, and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.
