8.

1 <새 언약의 대제사장> 우리가 말하고자 하는 요지는 우리에게 이러한 대제사장이 계시다는 것입니다. 그분은 하늘에 계신 존귀하신 분의 보좌 오른편에 앉아 계십니다.

1 Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

2 또한 그분은 사람이 세운 것이 아니라 주께서 세우신 성소와 참된 장막에서 섬기십니다.

2 a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.

3 대제사장마다 예물과 제물을 드리기 위해 세움을 받았습니다. 그러므로 이 대제사장에게도 무엇인가 드릴 것이 있어야 합니다.

3 For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this One also have something to offer.

4 만일 그분이 세상에 계셨다면 제사장이 되지 못하셨을 것입니다. 왜냐하면 세상에는 율법을 따라 예물을 드리는 사람들이 있기 때문입니다.

4 For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law;

5 그들이 섬기는 곳은 하늘에 있는 것들의 모형이며 그림자입니다. 이것은 모세가 장막을 세우려고 할 때 지시를 받은 것과 같습니다. 말씀하시기를 "산에서 네게 보여 준 모형대로 모든 것을 만들라"고 하셨습니다.

5 who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, "See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."

6 그러나 이제 그분은 더 뛰어난 직분을 받으셨습니다. 그분은 참으로 더 나은 약속 위에 세워진 더 나은 언약의 중보자이십니다.

6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

7 만일 저 첫 언약에 흠이 없었다면 두 번째 언약을 요구할 필요가 없었을 것입니다.

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.

8 하나님께서 그들에게서 허물을 발견하시고 말씀하셨습니다. "주께서 말씀하신다. '보라. 날들이 이를 것이다. 내가 이스라엘 집과 유다 집과 더불어 새 언약을 세울 것이다.'

8 Because finding fault with them, He says: "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah--

9 주께서 말씀하신다. '그것은 내가 그들의 조상들의 손을 잡고 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 낼 때 그들과 세운 언약과 같지 않다. 그들이 내 언약 안에 머물러 있지 않았고 그래서 나도 그들을 돌보지 않았다.'

9 "not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the LORD.

10 주께서 말씀하신다. '이것은 그날 후에 내가 이스라엘 집과 세울 언약이다. 내가 내 율법을 그들의 생각 속에 넣어 주고 그들의 마음에 새길 것이다. 나는 그들의 하나님이 되고 그들은 내 백성이 될 것이다.

10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

11 그래서 그들은 각각 자기 이웃이나 자기 형제에게 결코 "주를 알라"고 가르치지 않을 것이다. 이는 그들 가운데 낮은 사람으로부터 높은 사람에 이르기까지 모두 나를 알 것이기 때문이다.

11 "None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.

12 내가 그들의 불의를 긍휼히 여기고 그들의 죄를 더 이상 기억하지 않을 것이다.'"

12 "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."

13 '새 언약'이라고 말씀하실 때 하나님께서는 첫 언약을 낡은 것으로 만드신 것입니다. 낡고 오래된 것은 곧 사라지게 됩니다.

13 In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

9.

1 <지상 장막에서 행한 예배> 첫 언약에도 예배 규례들과 세상에 속한 성소가 있었습니다.

1 Then indeed, even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service and the earthly sanctuary.

2 첫 번째 장막이 세워졌는데 그 안에는 촛대와 상과 진설병이 있었습니다. 이곳은 '성소'라고 불립니다.

2 For a tabernacle was prepared: the first part, in which was the lampstand, the table, and the showbread, which is called the sanctuary;

3 그리고 두 번째 휘장 뒤에는 '지성소'라고 불리는 장막이 있습니다.

3 and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All,

4 이곳에는 금으로 만든 분향 제단과 전부를 금으로 입힌 언약궤가 놓여 있습니다. 이 언약궤 안에는 만나를 담은 금항아리와 아론의 싹 난 지팡이와 언약의 돌판들이 있습니다.

4 which had the golden censer and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant;

5 그리고 그 위에는 속죄의 자리를 덮고 있는 영광의 그룹들이 있는데 이것들에 대해 지금 자세히 말할 수는 없습니다.

5 and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.

6 이 모든 것이 이렇게 갖춰졌고 제사장들은 항상 첫 번째 장막으로 들어가 제사를 행합니다.

6 Now when these things had been thus prepared, the priests always went into the first part of the tabernacle, performing the services.

7 그러나 두 번째 장막 안에는 대제사장만이 1년에 단 한 번 들어가는데 피가 없이는 절대로 들어가지 못합니다. 이 피는 그 자신을 위하고 또한 백성이 알지 못하고 지은 죄를 위한 것입니다.

7 But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people's sins committed in ignorance;

8 이것을 통해 성령께서는 첫 번째 장막이 서 있는 동안에는 지성소로 들어가는 길이 아직 열리지 않은 사실을 보여 주십니다.

8 the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.

9 이 장막은 현 세대를 위한 비유입니다. 이에 따라 드려진 예물과 제물은 제사하는 사람의 양심을 온전케 할 수 없습니다.

9 It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience--

10 그것들은 먹고 마시는 것과 여러 가지 씻는 의식들과 관련된 것들로서 단지 개혁의 때까지 부과된 육체를 위한 규례들에 지나지 않습니다.

10 concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.

11 <그리스도의 피> 그러나 그리스도께서는 이미 이뤄진 좋은 것들의 대제사장으로 오셨습니다. 그는 손으로 짓지 않은, 곧 피조물에 속하지 않은 더 크고 더 완전한 장막으로 들어가셨습니다.

11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.

12 그는 염소와 송아지의 피가 아닌 자신의 피로 단번에 지성소로 들어가셔서 영원한 구속을 완성하셨습니다.

12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

13 만일 염소와 황소의 피와 암송아지의 재를 뿌려 부정한 사람들을 거룩하게 함으로 그 육체를 정결하게 한다면

13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh,

14 하물며 영원하신 성령을 통해 흠 없는 자신을 하나님께 드리신 그리스도의 피가 더욱 우리의 양심을 죽은 행실에서 깨끗하게 해 살아 계신 하나님을 섬기게 하지 않겠습니까?

14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

15 그러므로 그리스도께서는 새 언약의 중보자이십니다. 그분은 첫 언약 아래서 저지른 죄들을 대속하려고 죽으심으로써, 영원한 유업을 얻기 위해 부름받은 사람들로 하여금 약속을 받게 하셨습니다.

15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

16 유언이 있는 곳에는 그 유언한 사람의 죽음이 있어야 합니다.

16 For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

17 이는 유언은 죽음이 있어야 효력을 나타낼 수 있고 유언한 사람이 살아 있는 동안에는 아무 효력이 없기 때문입니다.

17 For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives.

18 그러므로 첫 언약도 피 없이 맺어진 것이 아닙니다.

18 Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood.

19 그래서 모세가 율법을 따라 모든 계명을 백성에게 말할 때 그는 물과 붉은 양털과 우슬초와 함께 송아지의 피와 염소의 피를 취해 언약책과 모든 백성에게 뿌렸습니다.

19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,

20 그리고 그는 "이것은 하나님께서 여러분에게 명령하신 언약의 피입니다"라고 말했습니다.

20 saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you."

21 마찬가지로 그는 장막과 제사에 사용하는 모든 그릇에도 피를 뿌렸습니다.

21 Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry.

22 율법에 따르면 거의 모든 것이 피로 깨끗해집니다. 참으로 피 흘림이 없으면 죄 사함도 없습니다.

22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

23 하늘에 있는 것들의 모형들은 이런 것들로 정결하게 될 필요가 있었습니다. 그러나 하늘에 있는 것들은 이런 것들보다 더 나은 제사로 정결하게 돼야 합니다.

23 Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

24 그리스도께서는 참된 것들의 모형들인 손으로 지은 성소로 들어가지 않으셨습니다. 그분은 이제 우리를 위해 하나님 앞에 나타나시려고 바로 하늘 그 안으로 들어가셨습니다.

24 For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;

25 이는 대제사장이 해마다 다른 것의 피를 들고 지성소로 들어가는 것처럼 자신을 여러 번 드리시지 않기 위함입니다.

25 not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another--

26 만일 그래야 한다면 그는 세상이 창조된 이후 여러 번 고난을 당하셨어야 했을 것입니다. 그러나 이제 그는 자신을 제물로 드려 죄를 제거하시려고 세상 끝에 단 한 번 나타나셨습니다.

26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

27 한 번 죽는 것은 사람들에게 정해진 일이며 그 후에는 심판이 있습니다.

27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

28 이와 같이 그리스도께서도 많은 사람의 죄를 담당하시려고 자신을 단번에 드리셨습니다. 그리고 그분은 그분을 고대하는 사람들을 구원하시기 위해 죄와 상관없이 두 번째 나타나실 것입니다.

28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

10.

1 <모두를 위해 단번에 드린 그리스도의 희생제사> 율법은 다가올 좋은 것들의 그림자일 뿐 그것이 실체의 형상 그 자체는 아닙니다. 그러므로 그것은 해마다 끊이지 않고 드리는 똑같은 제사들을 통해 나아오는 사람들을 결코 온전하게 할 수 없습니다.

1 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.

2 그렇게 할 수 있었다면 바치는 일이 그치지 않았겠습니까? 왜냐하면 섬기는 사람들이 단번에 정결케 돼 더 이상 죄를 의식하는 일이 없었을 것이기 때문입니다.

2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.

3 그러나 이 제사들에는 해마다 죄를 생각나게 하는 것이 있습니다.

3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.

4 이는 황소나 염소의 피가 죄를 제거하지 못하기 때문입니다.

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

5 그러므로 그리스도께서 세상에 오시면서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. "주께서는 제물과 헌물을 원하지 않으시고 오히려 나를 위해 한 몸을 예비하셨습니다.

5 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me.

6 주께서는 번제와 속죄제를 기뻐하지 않으셨습니다.

6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure.

7 그래서 내가 말했습니다. '보십시오. 하나님! 저에 대해 두루마리 책에 기록된 대로 제가 주의 뜻을 행하러 왔습니다.'"

7 Then I said, 'Behold, I have come--In the volume of the book it is written of Me--To do Your will, O God.'"

8 앞에서 "주께서는 제물과 헌물과 번제와 속죄제를 원하지도 않으시고 기뻐하지도 않으십니다" (그런데 그것들은 율법을 따라 드리는 것들입니다)라고 말씀하실 때

8 Previously saying, "Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them" (which are offered according to the law),

9 그는 "보십시오. 내가 주의 뜻을 행하러 왔습니다"라고 덧붙이셨습니다. 그리스도께서 첫 번째 것을 폐기하신 것은 두 번째 것을 세우기 위함이었습니다.

9 then He said, "Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first that He may establish the second.

10 이러한 뜻 가운데 예수 그리스도께서 단번에 자기의 몸을 드리심으로 우리가 거룩하게 됐습니다.

10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 모든 제사장은 날마다 서서 섬기며 반복해 똑같은 제사를 드립니다. 그러나 그것들은 결코 죄를 제거할 수 없습니다.

11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.

12 그러나 그리스도께서는 죄에 대해 단번에 영원한 제사를 드리시고 하나님 오른편에 앉으셨습니다.

12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,

13 그 후 그분의 원수들이 그분의 발아래 굴복할 때까지 기다리고 계십니다.

13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.

14 그분은 단 한 번의 제물로 거룩하게 된 사람들을 영원히 온전하게 만드셨습니다.

14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

15 그런데 성령께서도 우리에게 증언하십니다. 말씀하시기를

15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,

16 "'이것은 그날 후에 내가 그들과 맺을 언약이다. 내가 내 율법을 그들의 마음에 두고 그것을 그들의 생각에 새겨 줄 것이다' 주께서 말씀하신다" 라고 하신 후에

16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,"

17 덧붙여 말씀하시기를 "내가 그들의 죄와 그들의 불법을 다시는 기억하지 않을 것이다" 라고 하십니다.

17 then He adds, "Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."

18 이와 같이 죄와 불법이 용서된 곳에서는 더 이상 죄를 위한 헌물이 필요 없습니다.

18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

19 <믿음 안에서 인내하라> 그러므로 형제 여러분, 우리는 예수의 피로 인해 지성소에 들어갈 담대한 마음을 갖게 됐습니다.

19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20 그 길은 예수께서 우리를 위해 휘장을 통해 열어 놓으신 새롭고 산 길입니다. 그런데 이 휘장은 바로 그분의 육체입니다.

20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,

21 또한 우리에게는 하나님의 집을 다스리는 위대한 제사장이 계십니다.

21 and having a High Priest over the house of God,

22 우리가 죄악 된 양심으로부터 마음을 깨끗이 씻고 맑은 물로 몸을 씻었으므로 확신에 찬 믿음과 참된 마음으로 하나님께 나아갑시다.

22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 우리가 고백하는 소망의 믿음을 단단히 붙잡읍시다. 이는 약속하신 분이 신실하시기 때문입니다.

23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

24 또한 우리는 사랑과 선한 일들을 격려하기 위해 서로 돌아봅시다.

24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,

25 어떤 사람들의 습관과 같이 우리들 스스로 모이는 일을 소홀히 하지 말고 오히려 서로 권면합시다. 또한 그날이 다가오는 것을 볼수록 더욱 그렇게 합시다.

25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

26 만일 우리가 진리에 대한 지식을 받아들인 후에 일부러 죄를 지으면 속죄하는 제사가 더 이상 남아 있지 않습니다.

26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

27 오히려 떨리는 마음으로 심판을 기다리는 것과 대적하는 사람들을 삼켜 버릴 맹렬한 불만 남아 있습니다.

27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

28 모세의 율법을 거부했던 사람도 두세 증인의 증언에 의해 동정을 받지 못하고 죽게 됩니다.

28 Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

29 하물며 하나님의 아들을 짓밟고 자기를 거룩하게 한 언약의 피를 부정하게 여기고 은혜의 성령을 모독한 사람이 당연히 받을 형벌이 얼마나 더 가혹하겠는가를 생각해 보십시오.

29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

30 "원수 갚는 것은 내게 속한 것이니 내가 갚아 주겠다"라고 말씀하시고 또다시 "주께서 자기 백성을 심판하실 것이다"라고 말씀하신 분을 우리는 알고 있습니다.

30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The LORD will judge His people."

31 살아 계신 하나님의 손에 빠져들어 가는 것은 무서운 일입니다.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32 여러분은 빛을 받은 후에 고난 가운데 큰 싸움을 이겨 낸 지난날들을 기억하십시오.

32 But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings:

33 여러분은 때로 비방과 환난을 당함으로 공개적인 구경거리가 되기도 했고 또 때로는 이렇게 살아가는 사람들의 동료가 되기도 했습니다.

33 partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated;

34 또한 감옥에 갇힌 사람들과 함께 아파하고 여러분의 재물을 빼앗기는 것도 기쁨으로 감당했습니다. 이는 여러분이 보다 나은 영원한 재물이 있는 줄 알았기 때문입니다.

34 for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven.

35 그러므로 여러분은 담대함을 버리지 마십시오. 이는 그 담대함이 큰 상을 가져올 것이기 때문입니다.

35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.

36 여러분이 하나님의 뜻을 행한 후에 약속을 받기 위해서는 인내가 필요합니다.

36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

37 "잠시 잠깐 후면 오실 그분이 오실 것이니 지체하지 않으실 것이다.

37 "For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry.

38 그러나 내 의인은 믿음으로 말미암아 살 것이다. 누구든지 뒤로 물러서면 내 영이 그를 기뻐하지 않을 것이다."

38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him."

39 그러나 우리는 뒤로 물러나 멸망에 이르는 사람들이 아니라 믿음을 갖고 생명을 얻을 사람들입니다.

39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.
