8.

1 예수님께서 올리브 산으로 가시니라.

1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

2 그분께서 아침 일찍 다시 성전으로 들어오시니 온 백성이 그분께 나아오매 그분께서 앉으사 그들을 가르치시더라.

2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.

3 서기관들과 바리새인들이 간음하다가 붙잡힌 여자를 그분께 데리고 와서 그녀를 한가운데 세우고

3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst,

4 그분께 이르되, 선생님이여, 이 여자가 간음하다가 현장에서 붙잡혔나이다.

4 they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.

5 이제 모세는 율법에서 이러한 자를 돌로 치라고 우리에게 명령하였거니와 선생님은 어떻게 말씀하시나이까? 하니라.

5 "Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?"

6 그들이 그분을 시험하며 이렇게 말한 것은 그분을 고소하려 함이더라. 그런데 예수님께서는 그들의 말을 듣지 못하신 듯 몸을 구부리시고 손가락으로 땅에 쓰시니라.

6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.

7 이에 그들이 계속해서 그분께 물으니 그분께서 일어나 그들에게 이르시되, 너희 가운데 죄 없는 자가 먼저 그녀에게 돌을 던지라, 하시고

7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first."

8 다시 몸을 구부리시고 땅에 쓰시니라.

8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9 그들이 그것을 듣고는 양심에 가책을 받아 나이가 가장 많은 자로부터 시작하여 마지막까지 하나씩 하나씩 빠져나가매 오직 예수님만 남았고 그 여자는 한가운데 서 있더라.

9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

10 예수님께서 일어나사 그 여자 외에는 아무도 없음을 보시고 그녀에게 이르시되, 여자여, 너를 고소하던 그자들이 어디 있느냐? 아무도 너를 정죄하지 아니하였느냐? 하시니

10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, "Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?"

11 그녀가 이르되, [주]여, 아무도 하지 아니하였나이다, 하매 예수님께서 그녀에게 이르시되, 나도 너를 정죄하지 아니하노니 가서 다시는 죄를 짓지 말라, 하시니라.

11 She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more."

12 ¶ 그때에 예수님께서 다시 그들에게 말씀하여 이르시되, 나는 세상의 빛이니 나를 따르는 자는 어둠 속에 다니지 아니하고 생명의 빛을 얻으리라, 하시니라.

12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."

13 그러므로 바리새인들이 그분께 이르되, 네가 네 자신에 대하여 증언하니 네 증언은 참되지 아니하도다, 하매

13 The Pharisees therefore said to Him, "You bear witness of Yourself; Your witness is not true."

14 예수님께서 그들에게 응답하여 이르시되, 내가 내 자신에 대하여 증언할지라도 내 증언은 참되니 이는 나는 내가 어디에서 와서 어디로 가는지 알거니와 너희는 내가 어디에서 와서 어디로 가는지 말할 수 없기 때문이니라.

14 Jesus answered and said to them, "Even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from and where I am going.

15 너희는 육체를 따라 판단하나 나는 아무도 판단하지 아니하노라.

15 "You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one.

16 만일 내가 판단해도 내 판단은 참되니 이는 내가 혼자 있지 아니하고 나를 보내신 [아버지]와 내가 함께 있기 때문이라.

16 "And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me.

17 너희 율법에도 두 사람의 증언은 참되다고 기록되었으니

17 "It is also written in your law that the testimony of two men is true.

18 내가 내 자신에 대하여 증언하는 자가 되고 나를 보내신 [아버지]도 나에 대하여 증언하시느니라, 하시니라.

18 "I am One who bears witness of Myself, and the Father who sent Me bears witness of Me."

19 이에 그들이 그분께 이르되, 네 [아버지]가 어디 있느냐? 하니 예수님께서 대답하시되, 너희가 나도 알지 못하고 내 [아버지]도 알지 못하는도다. 너희가 나를 알았더라면 내 [아버지]도 알았으리라, 하시니라.

19 Then they said to Him, "Where is Your Father?" Jesus answered, "You know neither Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also."

20 예수님께서 성전에서 가르치실 때에 성전 보고에서 이 말씀들을 하셨으나 아무도 그분께 손을 대지 아니하였으니 이는 그분의 때가 아직 이르지 아니하였기 때문이더라.

20 These words Jesus spoke in the treasury, as He taught in the temple; and no one laid hands on Him, for His hour had not yet come.

21 그때에 예수님께서 다시 그들에게 이르시되, 나는 내 길로 가나니 너희는 나를 찾다가 너희 죄들 가운데서 죽겠고 내가 가는 곳에 너희가 오지 못하리라, 하시매

21 Then Jesus said to them again, "I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come."

22 이에 유대인들이 이르되, 그가 이르기를, 내가 가는 곳에 너희가 오지 못하리라, 하니 그가 자살하려는가? 하매

22 So the Jews said, "Will He kill Himself, because He says, 'Where I go you cannot come'?"

23 그분께서 그들에게 이르시되, 너희는 아래에서 났고 나는 위에서 났으며 너희는 이 세상에 속하고 나는 이 세상에 속하지 아니하니라.

23 And He said to them, "You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

24 그러므로 내가 너희에게 말하기를, 너희는 너희 죄들 가운데서 죽으리라, 하였노니 너희가 만일 내가 그인 줄 믿지 아니하면 너희 죄들 가운데서 죽으리라, 하시니라.

24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."

25 이에 그들이 그분께 이르되, 너는 누구냐? 하니 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 나는 내가 처음부터 너희에게 말한 바로 그니라.

25 Then they said to Him, "Who are You?" And Jesus said to them, "Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

26 내게는 너희에 대하여 말하고 판단할 것이 많으나 나를 보내신 분께서 참되시매 나는 내가 그분에게서 들은 그것들을 세상에 말하노라, 하시니라.

26 "I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him."

27 그들은 그분께서 자기들에게 [아버지]에 대해 말씀하신 줄을 깨닫지 못하더라.

27 They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father.

28 이에 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 너희가 사람의 [아들]을 들어 올린 뒤에야 내가 그인 줄을 알며 또 내가 스스로 아무것도 하지 아니하고 오직 내 [아버지]께서 내게 가르쳐 주신 대로 내가 이것들을 말하는 줄도 알리라.

28 Then Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.

29 나를 보내신 분께서 나와 함께 계시는도다. 내가 항상 [아버지]를 기쁘게 하는 그것들을 행하므로 그분께서 나를 혼자 버려두지 아니하셨느니라, 하시니라.

29 "And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him."

30 그분께서 이 말씀들을 하시매 많은 사람들이 그분을 믿더라.

30 As He spoke these words, many believed in Him.

31 이에 예수님께서 자기를 믿은 그 유대인들에게 이르시되, 너희가 내 말에 거하면 참으로 내 제자가 되고

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

32 또 너희가 진리를 알리니 진리가 너희를 자유롭게 하리라, 하시니라.

32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

33 ¶ 그들이 그분께 응답하되, 우리는 아브라함의 씨로서 결코 누구에게도 속박된 적이 없거늘 어찌 네가 이르기를, 너희가 자유롭게 되리라, 하느냐? 하매

33 They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can you say, 'You will be made free'?"

34 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하시되, 진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 누구든지 죄를 짓는 자는 죄의 종이니라.

34 Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.

35 종은 영원히 집에 거하지 못하되 [아들]은 항상 거하나니

35 "And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.

36 그러므로 [아들]이 너희를 자유롭게 하면 너희가 참으로 자유롭게 되리라.

36 "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

37 나도 너희가 아브라함의 씨인 줄 아노라. 그러나 내 말이 너희 안에 있을 곳이 없으므로 너희가 나를 죽이려 하는도다.

37 "I know that you are Abraham's descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.

38 나는 내가 내 [아버지]와 함께 본 것을 말하고 너희는 너희가 너희 아비와 함께 본 것을 행하느니라, 하시니라.

38 "I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father."

39 그들이 그분께 응답하여 이르되, 아브라함이 우리 아버지니라, 하니 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 너희가 아브라함의 자손이라면 아브라함의 행위를 하고자 할 것이로되

39 They answered and said to Him, "Abraham is our father." Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham.

40 하나님께 직접 들은 진리를 너희에게 말한 사람인 나를 이제 너희가 죽이려 하는도다. 아브라함은 이렇게 하지 아니하였느니라.

40 "But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.

41 너희는 너희 아비가 행하는 일들을 하는도다, 하시매 이에 그들이 그분께 이르되, 우리는 음행을 통해 나지 아니하였고 우리에게는 한 [아버지]가 계시니 곧 하나님이시로다, 하거늘

41 "You do the deeds of your father." Then they said to Him, "We were not born of fornication; we have one Father--God."

42 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 하나님이 너희 [아버지]였으면 너희가 나를 사랑하였으리니 이는 내가 하나님으로부터 나서 나아왔기 때문이라. 나는 스스로 오지 아니하였으며 그분께서 나를 보내셨느니라.

42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.

43 너희가 어찌하여 내 말을 깨닫지 못하느냐? 이는 너희가 내 말을 들을 수 없기 때문이로다.

43 "Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.

44 너희는 너희 아비 마귀에게서 났으므로 너희 아비의 욕망들을 행하려 하느니라. 그는 처음부터 살인자요 자기 속에 진리가 없으므로 진리 안에 거하지 아니하고 거짓말을 할 때에 자기의 것으로 말하나니 이는 그가 거짓말쟁이요 거짓의 아비이기 때문이라.

44 "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

45 그런즉 내가 너희에게 진리를 말하므로 너희가 나를 믿지 아니하는도다.

45 "But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.

46 너희 중에 누가 내게 죄를 깨닫게 하겠느냐? 또한 내가 진리를 말할진대 너희가 어찌하여 나를 믿지 아니하느냐?

46 "Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me?

47 하나님에게서 난 자는 하나님의 말씀들을 듣나니 그러므로 너희가 그것들을 듣지 아니함은 너희가 하나님에게서 나지 아니하였기 때문이라, 하시니라.

47 "He who is of God hears God's words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God."

48 이에 유대인들이 응답하며 그분께 이르되, 너는 사마리아 사람이요 마귀 들린 자라고 우리가 말하는 것이 옳지 아니하냐? 하니

48 Then the Jews answered and said to Him, "Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?"

49 예수님께서 대답하시되, 나는 마귀 들리지 아니하였노라. 오히려 내가 내 [아버지]를 공경하거늘 너희가 나를 모욕하는도다.

49 Jesus answered, "I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.

50 나는 내 영광을 구하지 아니하나 영광을 구하고 심판하는 이가 계시느니라.

50 "And I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges.

51 진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 사람이 내 말을 지키면 결코 죽음을 보지 아니하리라, 하시니라.

51 "Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death."

52 이에 유대인들이 그분께 이르되, 이제는 네가 마귀 들린 줄을 우리가 아노라. 아브라함과 대언자들도 죽었거늘 너는 말하기를, 사람이 내 말을 지키면 결코 죽음을 맛보지 아니하리라, 하니

52 Then the Jews said to Him, "Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, 'If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.'

53 네가 이미 죽은 우리 아버지 아브라함보다 더 크냐? 또 대언자들도 죽었거늘 너는 네 자신을 누구로 만드느냐? 하매

53 "Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Whom do You make Yourself out to be?"

54 예수님께서 대답하시되, 내가 내게 존귀를 돌리면 내 존귀가 아무것도 아니거니와 내게 존귀를 돌리는 분은 내 [아버지]시니 곧 너희가 너희 하나님이라고 말하는 그분이시라.

54 Jesus answered, "If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God.

55 그럼에도 너희는 그분을 알지 못하였으되 나는 그분을 아노니 만일 내가, 나는 그분을 알지 못한다, 하면 내가 너희와 같이 거짓말쟁이가 되리라. 그러나 나는 그분을 알고 또 그분의 말씀을 지키노라.

55 "Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, 'I do not know Him,' I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word.

56 너희 아버지 아브라함은 나의 날 보기를 기뻐하다가 그 날을 보고 즐거워하였느니라, 하시니

56 "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad."

57 이에 유대인들이 그분께 이르되, 네가 아직 오십 세도 안 되었는데 아브라함을 보았느냐? 하매

57 Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?"

58 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 아브라함이 있기 전에 내가 있느니라, 하시니라.

58 Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM."

59 그때에 그들이 돌을 들어 그분을 치려 하거늘 예수님께서는 자신을 숨기시고 성전에서 나가시되 그들의 한가운데를 지나서 그렇게 나가시니라.

59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

9.

1 예수님께서 지나가실 때에 태어날 때부터 눈먼 사람을 보시매

1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.

2 그분의 제자들이 그분께 여쭈어 이르되, 선생님이여, 누가 죄를 지었기에 그가 눈먼 자로 태어났나이까? 이 사람이니이까, 그의 부모이니이까? 하니

2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"

3 예수님께서 대답하시되, 이 사람이나 그의 부모나 죄를 짓지 아니하였으며 다만 이것은 그에게서 하나님의 일들을 나타내고자 함이니라.

3 Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

4 낮일 때에 내가 반드시 나를 보내신 분의 일들을 하여야 하리라. 밤이 오면 그때는 아무도 일할 수 없느니라.

4 "I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.

5 내가 세상에 있는 동안에는 세상의 빛이로다, 하시니라.

5 "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

6 이렇게 말씀하시고는 그분께서 땅에 침을 뱉고 침으로 진흙을 이겨 그 눈먼 사람의 눈에 진흙을 바르시며

6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.

7 그에게 이르시되, 가서 실로암 못에서 씻으라, 하시니 (실로암은 번역하면 보내어졌다는 뜻이라.) 그러므로 그가 자기 길로 가서 씻고 보게 되어 왔더라.

7 And He said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

8 ¶ 그러므로 이웃 사람들과 전에 그가 눈먼 것을 본 자들이 이르되, 이 사람은 앉아서 구걸하던 자가 아니냐? 하매

8 Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, "Is not this he who sat and begged?"

9 어떤 이들은, 이 사람이 그 사람이라, 하고 다른 이들은, 그는 그와 비슷하다, 하나 그는, 내가 그로다, 하니라.

9 Some said, "This is he." Others said, "He is like him." He said, "I am he."

10 그러므로 그들이 그에게 이르되, 그러면 네 눈이 어떻게 열렸느냐? 하매

10 Therefore they said to him, "How were your eyes opened?"

11 그가 대답하여 이르되, 예수라 하는 사람이 진흙을 이겨 내 눈에 바르고 나더러, 실로암 못에 가서 씻으라, 하기에 내가 가서 씻고 시력을 받았노라, 하니

11 He answered and said, "A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, 'Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.' So I went and washed, and I received sight."

12 이에 그들이 그에게 이르되, 그가 어디 있느냐? 하매 그가 이르되, 나는 알지 못하노라, 하니라.

12 Then they said to him, "Where is He?" He said, "I do not know."

13 ¶ 그들이 전에 눈멀었던 그 사람을 데리고 바리새인들에게 가니라.

13 They brought him who formerly was blind to the Pharisees.

14 예수님께서 진흙을 이겨 그의 눈을 열어 주신 날은 안식일이더라.

14 Now it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes.

15 그때에 바리새인들도 그가 어떻게 시력을 받았는지 그에게 다시 물으니 그가 그들에게 이르되, 그 사람이 진흙을 내 눈에 바르매 내가 씻었고 지금 보나이다, 하니라.

15 Then the Pharisees also asked him again how he had received his sight. He said to them, "He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see."

16 그러므로 바리새인들 중의 어떤 이들은 이르되, 이 사람은 안식일을 지키지 아니하므로 하나님에게서 오지 아니하였도다, 하며 다른 이들은 이르되, 죄인인 사람이 어떻게 그런 기적들을 행하겠느냐? 하여 그들 가운데 분열이 생기니라.

16 Therefore some of the Pharisees said, "This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath." Others said, "How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?" And there was a division among them.

17 그들이 그 눈멀었던 사람에게 다시 이르되, 그가 네 눈을 열어 주었으니 너는 그에 대해 무어라 말하느냐? 하매 그가 이르되, 그는 대언자이니이다, 하니라.

17 They said to the blind man again, "What do you say about Him because He opened your eyes?" He said, "He is a prophet."

18 그러나 유대인들은 그에 관한 일 곧 그가 눈멀었다가 시력을 받은 것을 믿지 아니하다가 마침내 시력을 받은 사람의 부모를 불러

18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind and received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight.

19 그들에게 물으며 이르되, 이 사람이 너희가 눈먼 자로 태어났다고 말하는 너희 아들이냐? 그러면 지금은 그가 어떻게 보느냐? 하니

19 And they asked them, saying, "Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?"

20 그의 부모가 그들에게 대답하여 이르되, 이 사람이 우리 아들인 것과 그가 눈먼 자로 태어난 것을 우리가 아나이다.

20 His parents answered them and said, "We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;

21 그러나 지금 그가 어떤 방법을 통해 보는지 우리는 알지 못하며 또 누가 그의 눈을 열어 주었는지 우리는 알지 못하나이다. 그가 나이 들었으니 그에게 물으소서. 그가 자기를 위해 말하리이다, 하니라.

21 "but by what means he now sees we do not know, or who opened his eyes we do not know. He is of age; ask him. He will speak for himself."

22 그의 부모가 이렇게 말한 것은 그분이 그리스도라고 어떤 사람이 시인하면 그를 회당에서 내쫓기로 이미 유대인들이 결의하였으므로 유대인들을 두려워하였기 때문이더라.

22 His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.

23 그러므로 그의 부모가 말하기를, 그가 나이 들었으니 그에게 물으소서, 하였더라.

23 Therefore his parents said, "He is of age; ask him."

24 이에 그들이 눈멀었던 그 사람을 다시 불러 그에게 이르되, 찬양을 하나님께 드리라. 우리는 이 사람이 죄인인 줄 아노라, 하니

24 So they again called the man who was blind, and said to him, "Give God the glory! We know that this Man is a sinner."

25 그가 응답하여 이르되, 그가 죄인인지 아닌지 나는 알지 못하며 한 가지 아는 것은 내가 눈멀었으나 지금은 보는 것이니이다, 하매

25 He answered and said, "Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see."

26 그때에 그들이 다시 그에게 이르되, 그가 네게 무엇을 하였느냐? 그가 어떻게 네 눈을 열어 주었느냐? 하니

26 Then they said to him again, "What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?"

27 그가 그들에게 대답하되, 내가 이미 당신들에게 고하였어도 당신들이 듣지 아니하고 어찌하여 다시 듣고자 하나이까? 당신들도 그의 제자가 되고자 하나이까? 하매

27 He answered them, "I told you already, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?"

28 이에 그들이 그에게 욕하며 이르되, 너는 그의 제자이나 우리는 모세의 제자니라.

28 Then they reviled him and said, "You are His disciple, but we are Moses' disciples.

29 하나님께서 모세에게 말씀하신 줄을 우리가 알거니와 이 자로 말하건대 그가 어디서 왔는지 우리가 알지 못하노라, 하니라.

29 "We know that God spoke to Moses; as for this fellow, we do not know where He is from."

30 그 사람이 그들에게 응답하여 이르되, 당신들은 그가 어디서 왔는지 알지 못하나 그가 내 눈을 열어 주었으니 참으로 여기에 이상한 일이 있도다.

30 The man answered and said to them, "Why, this is a marvelous thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He has opened my eyes!

31 하나님께서 죄인들의 말은 듣지 아니하시나 어떤 사람이 하나님께 경배하며 그분의 뜻을 행하면 그분께서 그의 말은 들으시는 줄을 이제 우리가 아나이다.

31 "Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.

32 세상이 시작된 이래로 태어나면서부터 눈먼 사람의 눈을 어떤 사람이 열어 주었다 하는 말을 아무도 듣지 못하였나이다.

32 "Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind.

33 이 사람이 하나님에게서 오지 아니하였으면 아무 일도 할 수 없었으리이다, 하매

33 "If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing."

34 그들이 그에게 응답하여 이르되, 네가 전적으로 죄들 가운데서 태어나 우리를 가르치느냐? 하고 그를 내쫓으니라.

34 They answered and said to him, "You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?" And they cast him out.

35 예수님께서 그들이 그를 내쫓았다는 것을 들으시고 그를 만나사 그에게 이르시되, 네가 하나님의 [아들]을 믿느냐? 하시니

35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of God?"

36 그가 대답하여 이르되, [주]여, 그분이 누구시오니이까? 내가 그분을 믿고자 하나이다, 하매

36 He answered and said, "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?"

37 예수님께서 그에게 이르시되, 네가 그를 보았거니와 너와 말하고 있는 이가 그니라, 하시니

37 And Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you."

38 그가 이르되, [주]여, 내가 믿나이다, 하고 그분께 경배하니라.

38 Then he said, "Lord, I believe!" And he worshiped Him.

39 ¶ 예수님께서 이르시되, 내가 심판하려고 이 세상에 왔으니 이것은 보지 못하는 자들은 보게 하고 보는 자들은 눈멀게 하려 함이라, 하시매

39 And Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind."

40 그분과 함께 있던 바리새인들 중의 어떤 자들이 이 말씀들을 듣고 그분께 이르되, 우리도 눈멀었느냐? 하니

40 Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, "Are we blind also?"

41 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 너희가 눈멀었다면 너희에게 죄가 없으려니와 지금 너희가, 우리는 본다, 하고 말하므로 너희 죄가 남아 있느니라.

41 Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, 'We see.' Therefore your sin remains.
