6.

1 이 일들 뒤에 예수님께서 갈릴리 바다 곧 디베랴 바다 건너편으로 가시매

1 After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias.

2 큰 무리가 그분을 따르니 이는 그분께서 병든 자들에게 행하신 기적들 즉 그분의 기적들을 그들이 보았기 때문이더라.

2 Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased.

3 예수님께서 산에 오르사 자기 제자들과 함께 거기 앉으셨는데

3 And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.

4 유대인들의 명절인 유월절이 가까이 왔더라.

4 Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near.

5 ¶ 예수님께서 눈을 들어 큰 무리가 자기에게 오는 것을 보시고 빌립에게 이르시되, 우리가 어디서 빵을 사서 이들을 먹이겠느냐? 하시니

5 Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?"

6 그분께서 이렇게 말씀하신 것은 친히 행하실 것을 아셨으므로 그를 시험하고자 하심이더라.

6 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.

7 빌립이 그분께 대답하되, 그들이 각각 조금씩 받을지라도 이백 데나리온 어치의 빵이 그들에게 충분치 아니하리이다, 하매

7 Philip answered Him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little."

8 그분의 제자들 중의 하나이며 시몬 베드로의 형제인 안드레가 그분께 아뢰되,

8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him,

9 여기 한 소년이 있는데 그가 보리 빵 다섯 개와 작은 물고기 두 마리를 가지고 있나이다. 그러나 그것들이 이 많은 사람들에게 얼마나 되겠나이까? 하니

9 "There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?"

10 예수님께서 이르시되, 그 사람들을 앉게 하라, 하시매 이제 그곳에 잔디가 많으므로 이에 그 사람들이 앉으니 수가 오천쯤 되더라.

10 Then Jesus said, "Make the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

11 예수님께서 빵을 집으사 감사를 드리신 뒤에 제자들에게 나누어 주시니 제자들이 자리를 잡은 자들에게 나누어 주고 또 그와 같이 물고기도 그들이 원하는 대로 주시더라.

11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.

12 그들이 배부른 뒤에 그분께서 자기 제자들에게 이르시되, 남아 있는 조각들을 거두어 잃어버리는 것이 없게 하라, 하시므로

12 So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost."

13 그들이 그것들을 함께 거두고 충분히 넘치게 먹은 자들이 남긴 보리 빵 다섯 개의 조각들로 열두 바구니를 채웠더라.

13 Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.

14 그때에 그 사람들이 예수님께서 행하신 그 기적을 보고 이르되, 이분은 진실로 세상에 오실 그 대언자시로다, 하더라.

14 Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world."

15 ¶ 그러므로 그들이 와서 억지로 자기를 데려다가 왕으로 삼으려는 것을 예수님께서 아시고 다시 혼자 산으로 떠나가시니라.

15 Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.

16 이제 저녁이 되매 그분의 제자들이 바다로 내려가서

16 Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,

17 배에 올라 바다를 건너 가버나움으로 가는데 이제 날이 어두웠고 예수님께서는 아직 그들에게 오지 아니하셨더라.

17 got into the boat, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was already dark, and Jesus had not come to them.

18 큰 바람이 불어 바다가 출렁이더라.

18 Then the sea arose because a great wind was blowing.

19 이에 그들이 노를 저어 이십오 내지 삼십 스타디온쯤 가다가 예수님께서 바다 위로 걸어 배에 가까이 오시는 것을 보고 두려워하거늘

19 So when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid.

20 그분께서 그들에게 이르시되, 나니 두려워하지 말라, 하시니라.

20 But He said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid."

21 이에 그들이 그분을 반가이 배로 받아들였고 배는 곧 그들이 가려던 뭍에 이르렀더라.

21 Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.

22 ¶ 그 다음 날 바다 건너편에 서 있던 사람들이 그분의 제자들이 탄 배 외에는 다른 배가 거기 없는 것과 또 예수님께서 자기 제자들과 함께 그 배로 들어가지 아니하시고 그분의 제자들이 따로 가는 것을 보니라.

22 On the following day, when the people who were standing on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except that one which His disciples had entered, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with His disciples, but His disciples had gone away alone--

23 (그러나 다른 배들이 디베랴를 떠나 [주]께서 감사드리신 뒤에 그들이 빵을 먹던 곳으로 가까이 왔더라.)

23 however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks--

24 그러므로 사람들이 거기에 예수님도 계시지 않고 또 그분의 제자들도 없는 것을 보고 자기들도 배를 타고 예수님을 찾으며 가버나움으로 가서

24 when the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they also got into boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

25 바다 건너편에서 그분을 만나 그분께 이르되, 랍비여, 언제 여기로 오셨나이까? 하매

25 And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, "Rabbi, when did You come here?"

26 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하여 이르시되, 진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 너희가 나를 찾는 것은 너희가 기적들을 보았기 때문이 아니요 빵을 먹고 배불렀기 때문이로다.

26 Jesus answered them and said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

27 썩어 없어지는 양식을 위해 수고하지 말고 영존하는 생명에 이르도록 항상 있는 그 양식을 위해 수고하라. 그것은 사람의 [아들]이 너희에게 주리니 그를 하나님 [아버지]께서 봉인하셨느니라, 하시니라.

27 "Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him."

28 그때에 그들이 그분께 이르되, 우리가 어떻게 하여야 하나님의 일들을 하리이까? 하매

28 Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?"

29 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하여 이르시되, 하나님께서 보내신 자를 너희가 믿는 것 이것이 곧 하나님의 일이니라, 하시니라.

29 Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."

30 그러므로 그들이 그분께 이르되, 그러면 선생님께서 우리에게 무슨 표적을 보이사 우리가 보고 선생님을 믿게 하시겠나이까? 선생님은 무슨 일을 행하시나이까?

30 Therefore they said to Him, "What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do?

31 기록된바, 그가 그들에게 하늘로부터 빵을 주어 먹게 하였도다, 한 것 같이 우리 조상들은 사막에서 만나를 먹었나이다, 하매

31 "Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'"

32 그때에 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 모세가 너희에게 하늘로부터 그 빵을 주지 아니하였느니라. 오직 내 [아버지]께서 너희에게 하늘로부터 참 빵을 주시나니

32 Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.

33 하나님의 빵은 하늘로부터 내려와 세상에 생명을 주는 자니라, 하시니라.

33 "For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

34 그때에 그들이 그분께 이르되, [주]여, 이 빵을 항상 우리에게 주소서, 하매

34 Then they said to Him, "Lord, give us this bread always."

35 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 내가 곧 생명의 빵이니 내게 오는 자는 결코 주리지 아니할 것이요, 나를 믿는 자는 결코 목마르지 아니하리라.

35 And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

36 그러나 내가 너희에게 이르기를, 너희도 나를 보았으되 믿지 아니하는도다, 하였느니라.

36 "But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe.

37 [아버지]께서 내게 주시는 모든 자는 내게로 올 것이요, 내게 오는 자는 내가 결코 내쫓지 아니하리라.

37 "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

38 나는 내 뜻을 행하려고 하늘로부터 내려오지 아니하고 나를 보내신 분의 뜻을 행하려고 내려왔느니라.

38 "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

39 나를 보내신 [아버지]의 뜻은 이것이니 곧 그분께서 내게 주신 모든 것 중에서 내가 하나도 잃지 아니하고 마지막 날에 그것을 다시 일으키는 것이니라.

39 "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

40 나를 보내신 분의 뜻은 이것이니 곧 [아들]을 보고 그를 믿는 모든 자가 영존하는 생명을 얻는 것이니라. 마지막 날에 내가 그를 일으키리라, 하시니라.

40 "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

41 그분께서, 내가 하늘로부터 내려온 빵이라, 하셨으므로 그때에 유대인들이 그분에 대해 수군거리며

41 The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, "I am the bread which came down from heaven."

42 이르되, 이 사람은 요셉의 아들 예수가 아니냐? 그의 아버지와 어머니를 우리가 아는데 어찌 그가 말하기를, 내가 하늘로부터 내려왔다, 하느냐? 하니

42 And they said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, 'I have come down from heaven'?"

43 그러므로 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하여 이르시되, 너희끼리 수군거리지 말라.

43 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, "Do not murmur among yourselves.

44 나를 보내신 [아버지]께서 이끌지 아니하시면 아무도 내게 올 수 없으며 내게 오는 그를 마지막 날에 내가 일으키리라.

44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

45 대언자들의 글에, 그들이 다 하나님께 가르침을 받으리라, 하고 기록되었으니 그러므로 [아버지]께 듣고 배운 자마다 내게로 오느니라.

45 "It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.

46 이 말은 어떤 사람이 [아버지]를 보았다는 것이 아니니라. 오직 하나님에게서 온 자만 [아버지]를 보았느니라.

46 "Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father.

47 진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 나를 믿는 자에게는 영존하는 생명이 있느니라.

47 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

48 내가 곧 그 생명의 빵이로다.

48 "I am the bread of life.

49 너희 조상들은 광야에서 만나를 먹었어도 죽었거니와

49 "Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

50 이것은 하늘로부터 내려오는 빵이므로 사람이 그것을 먹으면 죽지 아니하리라.

50 "This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.

51 나는 하늘로부터 내려온 살아 있는 빵이니 사람이 이 빵을 먹으면 영원히 살리라. 내가 주고자 하는 빵은 곧 세상의 생명을 위해 내가 주고자 하는 내 살이로다, 하시니라.

51 "I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."

52 이러므로 유대인들이 자기들끼리 다투며 이르되, 이 사람이 어찌 능히 자기 살을 우리에게 주어 먹게 하겠느냐? 하매

52 The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?"

53 이에 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 너희가 사람의 [아들]의 살을 먹지 아니하고 그의 피를 마시지 아니하면 너희 속에 생명이 없느니라.

53 Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.

54 누구든지 내 살을 먹고 내 피를 마시는 자에게는 영원한 생명이 있나니 마지막 날에 내가 그를 일으키리라.

54 "Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

55 내 살은 참으로 양식이요 내 피는 참으로 음료이니

55 "For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.

56 내 살을 먹고 내 피를 마시는 자는 내 안에 거하고 나도 그 안에 거하느니라.

56 "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

57 살아 계신 [아버지]께서 나를 보내시매 내가 [아버지]로 말미암아 사는 것 같이 나를 먹는 그 사람도 나로 말미암아 살리라.

57 "As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.

58 이것은 하늘로부터 내려온 그 빵이니라. 너희 조상들이 만나를 먹고도 죽은 것과 달리 이 빵을 먹는 자는 영원히 살리라, 하시니라.

58 "This is the bread which came down from heaven--not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever."

59 이것들은 그분께서 가버나움에서 가르치실 때에 회당에서 말씀하신 것이더라.

59 These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.

60 그러므로 그분의 제자들 중의 많은 사람이 이것을 듣고 이르되, 이 말씀은 어렵도다. 누가 그것을 들을 수 있으리요? 하매

60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, "This is a hard saying; who can understand it?"

61 예수님께서 자기 제자들이 그것에 대하여 수군거리는 줄 스스로 아시고 그들에게 이르시되, 이것이 너희를 실족하게 하느냐?

61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, "Does this offend you?

62 그러면 너희가 사람의 [아들]이 이전에 있던 곳으로 올라가는 것을 보면 어떻게 하려느냐?

62 "What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before?

63 살리는 것은 영이며 육은 아무것도 유익하게 하지 못하느니라. 내가 너희에게 이르는 말들은 곧 영이요 생명이니라.

63 "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

64 그러나 너희 중에 믿지 않는 자들이 더러 있느니라, 하시니 이는 예수님께서 믿지 않는 자들이 누구며 또 자기를 배반하여 넘길 자가 누구인지 처음부터 아셨기 때문이라.

64 "But there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him.

65 또 그분께서 이르시되, 그러므로 내가 너희에게 이르기를, 내 [아버지]께서 오게 하지 아니하시면 아무도 내게 올 수 없도다, 하였노라, 하시니라.

65 And He said, "Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father."

66 ¶ 그때부터 그분의 제자들 중의 많은 사람이 돌아가고 다시는 그분과 함께 다니지 아니하더라.

66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.

67 이에 예수님께서 열둘에게 이르시되, 너희도 가려느냐? 하시니

67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?"

68 그때에 시몬 베드로가 그분께 대답하되, [주]여, 영원한 생명의 말씀들이 주께 있사온대 우리가 누구에게로 가리이까?

68 But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

69 우리는 주께서 그 그리스도시요 살아 계신 하나님의 [아들]이심을 믿고 확신하나이다, 하매

69 "Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

70 예수님께서 그들에게 응답하시되, 내가 너희 열둘을 택하지 아니하였느냐? 그러나 너희 중의 하나는 마귀니라, 하시니라.

70 Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?"

71 그분께서는 시몬의 아들 가룟 유다를 가리켜 말씀하셨더라. 그는 곧 열둘 중의 하나로 그분을 배반하여 넘겨줄 자더라.

71 He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve.

7.

1 이 일들 뒤에 예수님께서 갈릴리에서 다니시고 유대인들의 거주지에서 다니려 하지 아니하셨으니 이는 유대인들이 그분을 죽이려 하였기 때문이더라.

1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.

2 이제 유대인들의 장막절이 가까이 왔으므로

2 Now the Jews' Feast of Tabernacles was at hand.

3 그분의 형제들이 그분께 이르되, 여기를 떠나 유대로 들어가 당신이 행하는 일을 당신의 제자들도 보게 하소서.

3 His brothers therefore said to Him, "Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing.

4 은밀히 일을 행하면서 드러나게 알려지기를 스스로 바라는 사람은 없나이다. 당신이 이것들을 행하시거든 당신 자신을 세상에 나타내소서, 하니

4 "For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world."

5 이는 그분의 형제들도 그분을 믿지 아니하였기 때문이더라.

5 For even His brothers did not believe in Him.

6 이에 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 내 때는 아직 이르지 아니하였거니와 너희 때는 늘 준비되어 있느니라.

6 Then Jesus said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.

7 세상이 너희는 미워하지 못하나 나는 미워하나니 이는 내가 세상에 대해 증언하되 곧 세상의 행위들이 악하다고 증언하기 때문이라.

7 "The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.

8 너희는 이 명절을 지키러 올라가라. 나는 내 때가 아직 충만히 이르지 아니하였으므로 이 명절을 지키러 아직 올라가지 아니하노라, 하시니라.

8 "You go up to this feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, for My time has not yet fully come."

9 그들에게 이 말씀들을 하시고 그분께서 가만히 갈릴리에 머물러 계시니라.

9 When He had said these things to them, He remained in Galilee.

10 ¶ 그러나 그분께서도 자기 형제들이 올라간 뒤에 그 명절을 지키러 올라가시되 드러나게 하지 아니하시고 은밀히 하시니라.

10 But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

11 그때에 유대인들이 그 명절에 그분을 찾으며 이르되, 그가 어디 있느냐? 하더라.

11 Then the Jews sought Him at the feast, and said, "Where is He?"

12 또 그분에 대하여 사람들 가운데서 수군거림이 많았으니 이는 어떤 이들은, 그가 좋은 사람이라, 하고 다른 이들은, 아니라. 그가 사람들을 속인다, 하였기 때문이라.

12 And there was much complaining among the people concerning Him. Some said, "He is good"; others said, "No, on the contrary, He deceives the people."

13 그러나 유대인들을 두려워하므로 아무도 그분에 대하여 드러나게 말하지 아니하더라.

13 However, no one spoke openly of Him for fear of the Jews.

14 ¶ 이제 그 명절의 중간쯤에 예수님께서 성전에 올라가사 가르치시니

14 Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught.

15 유대인들이 놀라서 이르되, 이 사람은 결코 배우지 아니하였거늘 어떻게 글을 아느냐? 하매

15 And the Jews marveled, saying, "How does this Man know letters, having never studied?"

16 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하여 이르시되, 내 교리는 내 것이 아니요 나를 보내신 분의 것이니라.

16 Jesus answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.

17 어떤 사람이 그분의 뜻을 행하려 하면 그 교리가 하나님에게서 왔는지 혹은 내가 스스로 말하는지 알리라.

17 "If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.

18 스스로 말하는 자는 자기의 영광을 구하되 자기를 보내신 분의 영광을 구하는 자 곧 그는 참되며 그 속에는 불의가 없느니라.

18 "He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.

19 모세가 너희에게 율법을 주지 아니하였느냐? 그런데 너희 중에 아무도 율법을 지키지 아니하는도다. 어찌하여 너희가 나를 죽이려 하느냐? 하시니

19 "Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?"

20 사람들이 대답하여 이르되, 당신은 마귀 들렸도다. 누가 당신을 죽이려 하느냐? 하매

20 The people answered and said, "You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?"

21 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하여 이르시되, 내가 한 가지 일을 행하였는데 너희가 다 놀라는도다.

21 Jesus answered and said to them, "I did one work, and you all marvel.

22 모세가 너희에게 할례를 주었으니 (그러나 할례는 모세에게서 나지 아니하고 조상들에게서 났느니라.) 그러므로 너희가 안식일에 사람에게 할례를 행하느니라.

22 "Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath.

23 모세의 율법을 어기지 아니하려고 사람이 안식일에 할례를 받거늘 내가 안식일에 사람의 온 몸을 온전하게 하였다고 너희가 내게 화를 내느냐?

23 "If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?

24 겉모양으로 판단하지 말고 의로운 판단으로 판단하라, 하시니라.

24 "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."

25 그때에 예루살렘 사람들 중의 몇 사람이 이르되, 이 사람은 그들이 죽이고자 하는 그 사람이 아니냐?

25 Now some of them from Jerusalem said, "Is this not He whom they seek to kill?

26 그런데, 보라, 그가 담대하게 말하되 그들이 그에게 아무 말도 하지 아니하는도다. 참으로 치리자들은 이 사람이 참 그리스도인 줄로 알고 있는가?

26 "But look! He speaks boldly, and they say nothing to Him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is truly the Christ?

27 그러나 우리는 이 사람이 어디서 왔는지 알거니와 그리스도께서 오실 때에는 그분이 어디서 오시는지 아무도 알지 못하느니라, 하더라.

27 "However, we know where this Man is from; but when the Christ comes, no one knows where He is from."

28 그때에 예수님께서 성전에서 가르치시며 외쳐 이르시되, 너희가 나를 알고 또 내가 어디서 왔는지도 알거니와 나는 스스로 오지 아니하였노라. 나를 보내신 분은 참되시도다. 너희는 그분을 알지 못하나

28 Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying, "You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.

29 나는 그분을 아노니 이는 내가 그분에게서 나왔고 그분께서 나를 보내셨기 때문이라, 하시매

29 "But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me."

30 이에 그들이 그분을 잡고자 하나 아무도 그분께 손을 대지 아니하였으니 이는 그분의 때가 아직 이르지 아니하였기 때문이더라.

30 Therefore they sought to take Him; but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.

31 사람들 중의 많은 이들이 그분을 믿고 이르되, 그리스도께서 오실지라도 그분께서 이 사람이 행한 이것들보다 더 많은 기적을 행하랴? 하니라.

31 And many of the people believed in Him, and said, "When the Christ comes, will He do more signs than these which this Man has done?"

32 ¶ 그분에 대하여 사람들이 그런 것들로 수군거리는 것을 바리새인들이 들으니라. 바리새인들과 수제사장들이 그분을 잡으려고 직무 수행자들을 보내매

32 The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things concerning Him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take Him.

33 그때에 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 내가 너희와 함께 조금 더 있다가 그 뒤에 나를 보내신 분에게로 가리라.

33 Then Jesus said to them, "I shall be with you a little while longer, and then I go to Him who sent Me.

34 너희가 나를 찾아도 만나지 못할 것이요, 내가 있는 곳에 오지도 못하리라, 하시니

34 "You will seek Me and not find Me, and where I am you cannot come."

35 그때에 유대인들이 자기들끼리 이르되, 그가 어디로 가기에 우리가 그를 만나지 못하리요? 그가 이방인들 가운데 흩어져 사는 자들에게로 가서 이방인들을 가르칠 터인가?

35 Then the Jews said among themselves, "Where does He intend to go that we shall not find Him? Does He intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks?

36 그가 말한 것 즉, 너희가 나를 찾아도 만나지 못할 것이요, 내가 있는 곳에 오지도 못하리라, 한 이것은 무슨 말이냐? 하니라.

36 "What is this thing that He said, 'You will seek Me and not find Me, and where I am you cannot come'?"

37 마지막 날 곧 명절의 그 큰 날에 예수님께서 서서 외쳐 이르시되, 누구든지 목마르거든 내게로 와서 마시라.

37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

38 나를 믿는 자는 성경 기록이 말한 것 같이 그의 배에서 생수의 강들이 흘러나오리라, 하시니라.

38 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."

39 (그러나 이것은 그분께서 자기를 믿는 자들이 받을 성령을 가리켜 말씀하신 것이더라. 예수님께서 아직 영광을 받지 아니하셨으므로 아직 [성령님]께서 주어지지 아니하였더라.)

39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

40 ¶ 그러므로 사람들 중의 많은 이들이 이 말씀을 듣고 이르되, 이분은 진실로 그 대언자시로다, 하매

40 Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, "Truly this is the Prophet."

41 다른 이들은, 이분이 그리스도시다, 하되 어떤 이들은, 그리스도께서 갈릴리에서 나오시겠느냐?

41 Others said, "This is the Christ." But some said, "Will the Christ come out of Galilee?

42 성경 기록이 이르기를, 그리스도께서 다윗의 씨에서 나오시며 또 다윗이 있던 베들레헴 고을에서 나오시리라, 하지 아니하였느냐? 하며

42 "Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?"

43 이처럼 그분으로 인해 사람들 가운데 분열이 생기고

43 So there was a division among the people because of Him.

44 그들 중의 더러는 그분을 붙잡으려 하였으나 아무도 그분께 손을 대지 아니하더라.

44 Now some of them wanted to take Him, but no one laid hands on Him.

45 ¶ 그때에 직무 수행자들이 수제사장들과 바리새인들에게로 오니 그들이 저들에게 이르되, 어찌하여 그를 데려오지 아니하였느냐? 하매

45 Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, "Why have you not brought Him?"

46 직무 수행자들이 대답하되, 결코 아무도 이 사람처럼 말하지 아니하였나이다, 하니

46 The officers answered, "No man ever spoke like this Man!"

47 이에 바리새인들이 그들에게 응답하되, 너희도 속았느냐?

47 Then the Pharisees answered them, "Are you also deceived?

48 치리자나 바리새인들 중에 과연 누가 그를 믿었느냐?

48 "Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him?

49 오직 율법을 알지 못하는 이 사람들은 저주받은 자들이로다, 하거늘

49 "But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed."

50 (그들 중의 한 사람 곧 밤에 예수님께 왔던) 니고데모가 그들에게 말하되,

50 Nicodemus (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them,

51 우리의 율법은 어떤 사람의 말을 듣고 그가 행하는 것을 알아보기도 전에 그를 심판하느냐? 하니

51 "Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?"

52 그들이 그에게 대답하여 이르되, 너도 갈릴리에서 왔느냐? 조사하고 살펴보라. 갈릴리에서는 대언자가 일어나지 아니하느니라, 하였더라.

52 They answered and said to him, "Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee."

53 모든 사람이 자기 집으로 가니라.

53 And everyone went to his own house.
