23:5 오홀라가 내게 속하였을 때에 행음하여 그가 연애하는 자 곧 그의 이웃 앗수르 사람을 사모하였나니

5 "Then Oholah lusted after other lovers instead of me, and she gave her love to the Assyrian officers.

6 그들은 다 자색 옷을 입은 고관과 감독이요 준수한 청년이요 말 타는 자들이라

6 They were all attractive young men, captains and commanders dressed in handsome blue, charioteers driving their horses.

세상의 거짓이 제 마음을 계속 유혹합니다.

The deceiving world keeps luring me towards it.

제 마음에 있는 사람의 본성이 저를 더 힘들게 합니다.

and the nature of the human puts a big burden on me.

하늘의 자녀가 어찌 땅의 헛된 것들에게 마음을 빼앗길 수 있습니까!

How come a heavenly child can lose his spirit to the scams on earth.

세상 일들에 사로잡히면 세상의 자녀로 되돌아갈 수 있기에, 경계하고 또 경계하겠습니다.

If I become obsessed with the things of the world, I might return as a child of the world. I’ll be vigilant.

 

나의 아버지

My Father

제 영이 ‘세상’에 매이지 않도록 저를 깨워주옵소서.

Please wake me up so that my spirit is not bound to the world.

세상의 것들을 부러워하지 않도록, 하늘의 아름다운 것들을 보게 하옵소서.

Let me see the beautiful things in heaven so that I do not envy the things of the world.
