4.

1 <현재의 약함과 부활 생명> 그러므로 우리는 하나님의 자비하심을 힘입어 이 직분을 받은 사실을 생각해 낙심하지 않습니다.

1 Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us this new way, we never give up.

2 오히려 우리는 숨겨진 수치스러운 일들을 버렸고 간교하게 행하지 않았고 하나님의 말씀을 혼탁하게 하지 않았습니다. 오히려 우리는 진리를 나타냄으로 하나님 앞에서 모든 사람들의 양심에 우리 스스로를 추천합니다.

2 We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don't try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this.

3 우리의 복음이 가려져 있다면 그것은 멸망하는 사람들에게 가려져 있는 것입니다.

3 If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing.

4 그들로 말하자면, 이 세상의 신이 믿지 않는 사람들의 마음을 혼미하게 해 하나님의 형상인 그리스도의 영광스러운 복음의 빛이 그들을 비추지 못하게 한 것입니다.

4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

5 우리는 우리 자신을 전파하는 것이 아니라 그리스도 예수께서 주 되신 것과 예수 때문에 우리가 여러분의 종 된 것을 전파합니다.

5 You see, we don't go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus' sake.

6 "어둠에서 빛이 비치라"고 명하신 하나님께서 우리의 마음에 예수 그리스도의 얼굴에 있는 하나님의 영광을 아는 빛을 비추셨기 때문입니다.

6 For God, who said, "Let there be light in the darkness," has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

7 우리는 이 보배를 질그릇에 가지고 있는데 이는 능력의 지극히 큰 것이 하나님께 있고 우리에게서 난 것이 아니라는 것을 보여 주려는 것입니다.

7 We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

8 그러므로 우리는 사방으로 환난을 당해도 절망하지 않고 답답한 일을 당해도 낙심하지 않습니다.

8 We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair.

9 핍박을 당해도 버림받지 않고 넘어뜨림을 당해도 망하지 않습니다.

9 We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

10 우리는 항상 예수의 죽으심을 몸에 짊어지고 다닙니다. 이는 예수의 생명 또한 우리의 죽을 몸에 나타나게 하려는 것입니다.

10 Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.

11 우리 살아 있는 사람들이 항상 예수 때문에 죽음에 넘겨지는 것은 예수의 생명 또한 우리의 죽을 육체 안에 나타나게 하려는 것입니다.

11 Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies.

12 그러므로 죽음은 우리 안에서 역사하고 생명은 여러분 안에서 역사합니다.

12 So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you.

13 성경에 기록되기를 "내가 믿었으므로 말했다"라고 한 것처럼 우리는 바로 그 믿음의 영을 가지고 있으므로 우리도 믿고 또한 말하기도 하는 것입니다.

13 But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, "I believed in God, so I spoke."

14 주 예수를 살리신 이가 예수와 함께 우리도 살리시고 여러분과 함께 그 앞에 서게 하실 것을 우리가 알기 때문입니다.

14 We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you.

15 모든 것은 여러분을 위한 것입니다. 이는 하나님의 은혜가 더 많은 사람들에게 풍성해져서 넘치는 감사로 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 하려는 것입니다.

15 All of this is for your benefit. And as God's grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.

16 그러므로 우리는 낙심하지 않습니다. 우리의 겉사람은 쇠할지라도 우리의 속사람은 날마다 새로워지고 있습니다.

16 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.

17 우리가 잠시 당하는 가벼운 고난은 그것 모두를 능가하고도 남을 영원한 영광을 우리에게 이뤄 줄 것입니다.

17 For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!

18 우리가 주목하는 것은 보이는 것들이 아니라 보이지 않는 것들입니다. 보이는 것들은 잠깐이나 보이지 않는 것들은 영원하기 때문입니다.

18 So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

 

 

5.

1 <새로운 몸을 기다림> 우리는 땅 위에 있는 우리의 장막 집이 무너지면 하나님께서 지으신 집, 곧 손으로 지은 것이 아닌 하늘에 있는 영원한 집이 우리에게 있는 것을 알고 있습니다.

1 For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.

2 우리는 하늘로부터 오는 우리의 집으로 덧입기를 간절히 사모하며 이 장막 집에서 탄식하고 있습니다.

2 We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing.

3 만일 우리가 이 장막을 벗을지라도 벗은 사람들로 발견되지 않을 것입니다.

3 For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies.

4 우리는 이 장막에 살면서 무거운 짐을 지고 탄식하고 있습니다. 우리는 이 장막을 벗고자 하는 것이 아니라 그 위에 덧입고자 하는 것입니다. 이는 죽을 것이 생명에게 삼켜지게 하려는 것입니다.

4 While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it's not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life.

5 우리를 위해 이것을 이뤄 주시고 우리에게 성령이라는 보증을 주신 분은 하나님이십니다.

5 God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.

6 그러므로 우리는 항상 담대합니다. 우리가 몸 안에 거하는 동안에는 주에게서 떠나 따로 거한다는 것을 압니다.

6 So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord.

7 우리는 믿음으로 행하고 보는 것으로 행하지 않습니다.

7 For we live by believing and not by seeing.

8 우리가 담대하게 원하는 것은 차라리 몸을 떠나 주와 함께 거하는 것입니다.

8 Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.

9 그러므로 우리가 몸 안에 있든지 몸을 떠나 있든지 주를 기쁘게 하려고 힘씁니다.

9 So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him.

10 우리 모두가 그리스도의 심판대 앞에 드러나야 하기 때문입니다. 그 결과 각기 선악 간에 몸으로 행한 것에 대해 보응을 받게 될 것입니다.

10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

11 <화목하게 하는 직분> 그러므로 우리는 주께서 두려운 분이심을 알므로 사람들에게 권면합니다. 우리는 이미 하나님 앞에 드러나 있습니다. 나는 여러분의 양심에도 우리가 그렇게 드러나 있기를 바랍니다.

11 Because we understand our fearful responsibility to the Lord, we work hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere, and I hope you know this, too.

12 그렇다고 우리가 또다시 여러분에게 우리를 추천하려는 것이 아닙니다. 도리어 우리는 여러분에게 우리 때문에 자랑할 기회를 주려는 것입니다. 이는 마음으로 하지 않고 외모로 자랑하는 사람들에게 여러분이 대답할 말을 가지도록 하려는 것입니다.

12 Are we commending ourselves to you again? No, we are giving you a reason to be proud of us, so you can answer those who brag about having a spectacular ministry rather than having a sincere heart.

13 우리가 미쳤어도 하나님을 위한 것이요, 정신이 온전해도 여러분을 위한 것입니다.

13 If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit.

14 그리스도의 사랑이 우리를 강권하십니다. 우리가 확신하건대 한 사람이 모든 사람을 대신해 죽었으니 모든 사람이 죽은 것입니다.

14 Either way, Christ's love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.

15 그분이 모든 사람을 대신해 죽으신 것은 산 사람들로 더 이상 자신을 위해 살지 않고 자신을 대신해 죽었다가 살아나신 그분을 위해 살게 하시려는 것입니다.

15 He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

16 그러므로 이제부터는 우리가 아무도 육체를 따라 알려고 하지 않습니다. 전에는 우리가 그리스도를 육체를 따라 알았으나 이제는 더 이상 그렇게 알지 않습니다.

16 So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now!

17 그러므로 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물입니다. 옛것은 지나갔으니 보십시오. 새것이 됐습니다.

17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

18 모든 것은 하나님께로부터 왔습니다. 하나님은 그리스도를 통해서 우리를 그분과 화목하게 하시고 또한 우리에게 화목하게 하는 직분을 맡겨 주셨습니다.

18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.

19 곧 하나님께서는 사람들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 않으시고 세상을 그리스도 안에서 그분과 화목하게 하셨으며 또한 우리에게 화목하게 하는 말씀을 맡겨 주신 것입니다.

19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

20 그러므로 우리는 그리스도를 대신하는 사절이 돼 하나님께서 우리를 통해서 권면하시는 것같이 그리스도를 대신해 여러분에게 간곡히 부탁합니다. 여러분은 하나님과 화목하십시오.

20 So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!"

21 하나님께서는 죄를 알지도 못하신 분에게 우리 대신 죄를 짊어지게 하셨습니다. 이는 우리로 그리스도 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하시려는 것입니다.

21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

 

 

6.

1 하나님과 함께 일하는 우리가 여러분에게 권면합니다. 여러분은 하나님의 은혜를 헛되이 받지 마십시오.

1 As God's partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God's kindness and then ignore it.

2 말씀하기를 "내가 은혜 베풀 만한 때에 네 말을 들었고 구원의 날에 너를 도왔다" 라고 말씀하셨기 때문입니다. 보십시오. 지금은 은혜받을 만한 때요, 지금은 구원의 날입니다.

2 For God says, "At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you." Indeed, the "right time" is now. Today is the day of salvation.

3 <바울의 환난> 우리는 무슨 일이든 아무에게도 거리낌이 되지 않으려고 합니다. 이는 우리의 섬기는 일이 비난을 받지 않게 하려는 것입니다.

3 We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry.

4 오히려 우리는 우리 자신을 모든 일에 하나님의 일꾼들로 추천하려고 애씁니다. 우리는 많은 인내와 환난과 궁핍과 곤란과

4 In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind.

5 매 맞음과 감옥에 갇히는 것과 난동과 수고와 자지 못함과 배고픔 가운데 하나님의 일꾼들로 지냅니다.

5 We have been beaten, been put in prison, faced angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, endured sleepless nights, and gone without food.

6 또한 우리는 순결함과 지식과 오래 참음과 친절함과 성령과 거짓 없는 사랑과

6 We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love.

7 진리의 말씀과 하나님의 능력으로 일합니다. 또 우리는 오른손과 왼손에 의의 무기를 들고

7 We faithfully preach the truth. God's power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense.

8 영광과 모욕, 비난과 칭찬을 동시에 겪으며 일합니다. 우리는 속이는 사람 같으나 진실하고

8 We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us impostors.

9 무명한 사람 같으나 유명하고 죽은 사람 같으나 보십시오! 살아 있습니다. 우리가 징벌을 받는 사람 같으나 죽임을 당하지 않고

9 We are ignored, even though we are well known. We live close to death, but we are still alive. We have been beaten, but we have not been killed.

10 근심하는 사람 같으나 항상 기뻐하고 가난한 사람 같으나 많은 사람을 부유하게 합니다. 아무것도 없는 사람 같으나 모든 것을 가진 사람입니다.

10 Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.

11 고린도 사람들이여, 우리의 입이 여러분을 향해 열려 있으며 우리의 마음이 넓게 열려 있습니다.

11 Oh, dear Corinthian friends! We have spoken honestly with you, and our hearts are open to you.

12 여러분이 우리의 마음 안에서 좁아진 것이 아니라 여러분의 마음이 스스로 좁아진 것입니다.

12 There is no lack of love on our part, but you have withheld your love from us.

13 내가 자녀에게 말하듯이 말합니다. 여러분도 보답하는 양으로 마음을 넓히십시오.

13 I am asking you to respond as if you were my own children. Open your hearts to us!

14 <우상 숭배에 대한 경고> 여러분은 믿지 않는 사람들과 함께 멍에를 메지 마십시오. 의와 불법이 어떻게 함께 짝하며 빛과 어두움이 어떻게 사귈 수 있겠습니까?

14 Don't team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?

15 그리스도와 벨리알이 어떻게 하나가 되며 믿는 사람과 믿지 않는 사람이 어떻게 함께 몫을 나눌 수 있겠습니까?

15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?

16 하나님의 성전과 우상들이 어떻게 하나가 될 수 있겠습니까? 우리는 살아 계신 하나님의 성전이기 때문입니다. 이것은 하나님께서 말씀하신 바와 같습니다. "내가 그들 가운데 거하고 그들 가운데 행할 것이니 나는 그들의 하나님이 되고 그들은 내 백성이 될 것이다."

16 And what union can there be between God's temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said： "I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

17 "그러므로 너희는 그들 가운데서 나와 그들과 떨어져 있으라. 주께서 말씀하신다. 너희는 부정한 것을 만지지 말라. 그러면 내가 너희를 영접할 것이다."

17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don't touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.

18 "나는 너희의 아버지가 되고 너희는 내 자녀들이 될 것이다. 전능하신 주께서 말씀하신다."

18 And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
