1 <솔로몬> 내 누이여, 내 신부여, 내가 내 정원을 찾아왔습니다. 내 향품과 함께 몰약을 거두고 내 꿀송이와 꿀을 먹고 내 포도주와 젖을 마셨습니다. <친구들> 친구들이여, 먹고 마셔요. 사랑하는 사람들이여, 마음껏 들어요.

1 [Young Man] I have entered my garden, my treasure, my bride! I gather myrrh with my spices and eat honeycomb with my honey. I drink wine with my milk. [Young Women of Jerusalem] Oh, lover and beloved, eat and drink! Yes, drink deeply of your love!

2 <술람미> 나는 자고 있었지만 내 마음은 깨어 있었습니다. 들어 보세요! 내가 사랑하는 그분이 문을 두드리시네요. 내 누이여, 내 사랑이여, 문을 열어 주세요. 내 비둘기여, 흠 없는 내 사람이여, 내 머리는 이슬에 흠뻑 젖었고 내 머리칼에는 밤이슬이 가득합니다.

2 [Young Woman] I slept, but my heart was awake, when I heard my lover knocking and calling： "Open to me, my treasure, my darling, my dove, my perfect one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night."

3 나는 이미 옷을 벗었는데 다시 입어야 하나요? 나는 발을 씻었는데 다시 더럽혀야 하나요?

3 But I responded, "I have taken off my robe. Should I get dressed again? I have washed my feet. Should I get them soiled?"

4 내가 사랑하는 그분이 문틈으로 손을 들이미시니 내 마음이 그분으로 인해 두근거리기 시작합니다.

4 My lover tried to unlatch the door, and my heart thrilled within me.

5 내가 사랑하는 그분을 위해 문을 열려고 일어날 때 몰약이 내 손에서, 몰약의 즙이 내 손가락을 타고 흘러 문빗장에 닿습니다.

5 I jumped up to open the door for my love, and my hands dripped with perfume. My fingers dripped with lovely myrrh as I pulled back the bolt.

6 내가 사랑하는 그분을 위해 문을 열었는데 내 사랑하는 그분은 떠나고 없네요. 그분이 없어 내 마음은 무너져 내립니다. 그분을 찾았지만 찾을 수 없습니다. 그분을 불렀지만 대답이 없습니다.

6 I opened to my lover, but he was gone! My heart sank. I searched for him but could not find him anywhere. I called to him, but there was no reply.

7 성안을 순찰하던 파수꾼들이 나를 발견하고는 나를 때려 상처를 내고 저 성벽을 지키는 사람들은 내 겉옷을 빼앗아 갔습니다.

7 The night watchmen found me as they made their rounds. They beat and bruised me and stripped off my veil, those watchmen on the walls.

8 예루살렘의 딸들이여, 내가 부탁합니다. 만약 내가 사랑하는 그분을 만나거든 내가 사랑 때문에 병이 났다고 말해 주세요.

8 Make this promise, O women of Jerusalem - If you find my lover, tell him I am weak with love.

9 <친구들> 가장 아름다운 여자여, 당신이 사랑하는 분이 다른 이보다 얼마나 더 나은가요? 당신이 사랑하는 분이 다른 이보다 얼마나 낫기에 우리에게 이렇게 부탁하나요?

9 [Young Women of Jerusalem] Why is your lover better than all others, O woman of rare beauty? What makes your lover so special that we must promise this?

10 <술람미 여인> 내가 사랑하는 그분은 깨끗한 외모에 혈색이 붉은 건강한 분이랍니다. 수많은 사람들 가운데서도 뛰어나지요.

12 His eyes sparkle like doves beside springs of water; they are set like jewels washed in milk.

13 그의 볼은 향기로 가득한 꽃밭 같고 그의 입술은 몰약이 뚝뚝 떨어지는 백합화 같습니다.

13 His cheeks are like gardens of spices giving off fragrance. His lips are like lilies, perfumed with myrrh.

14 그의 두 팔은 황옥이 박힌 황금 방망이 같고 그의 몸은 사파이어로 장식한 매끄러운 상아 같습니다.

14 His arms are like rounded bars of gold, set with beryl. His body is like bright ivory, glowing with lapis lazuli.

15 그의 두 다리는 순금 받침 위에 세운 대리석 기둥 같고 그의 모습은 레바논 같고 백향목처럼 뛰어납니다.

15 His legs are like marble pillars set in sockets of finest gold. His posture is stately, like the noble cedars of Lebanon.

16 그의 입은 달콤하기 그지없으니 그가 가진 모든 것이 사랑스럽습니다. 예루살렘의 딸들이여, 이분이 바로 내가 사랑하는 그분, 내 친구입니다.

16 His mouth is sweetness itself; he is desirable in every way. Such, O women of Jerusalem, is my lover, my friend.

1 <친구들> 가장 아름다운 여자여, 그대가 사랑하는 그분이 어디로 가셨나요? 그대가 사랑하는 그분이 어느 곳으로 가셨나요? 우리 함께 그분을 찾아봐요.

1 [Young Women of Jerusalem] Where has your lover gone, O woman of rare beauty? Which way did he turn so we can help you find him?

2 <술람미> 내가 사랑하는 그분은 그의 동산으로, 향기로운 꽃밭으로 내려가 동산에서 양 떼를 먹이시며 백합화를 꺾고 계시겠죠.

2 [Young Woman] My lover has gone down to his garden, to his spice beds, to browse in the gardens and gather the lilies.

3 나는 내가 사랑하는 그분의 것이고 내가 사랑하는 그분은 내 것입니다. 백합화 사이에서 그분이 양 떼를 먹이시네요.

3 I am my lover's, and my lover is mine. He browses among the lilies.

4 <솔로몬> 내 사랑이여, 그대는 디르사처럼 아름답고 예루살렘처럼 사랑스럽습니다. 깃발을 높이 든 군대처럼 위엄이 있습니다.

4 [Young Man] You are beautiful, my darling, like the lovely city of Tirzah. Yes, as beautiful as Jerusalem, as majestic as an army with billowing banners.

5 그대가 바라보는 두 눈을 나는 감당할 수 없으니 그대여 눈을 돌려 주세요. 당신의 머리칼은 길르앗 산에서 내려오는 염소 떼와 같네요.

5 Turn your eyes away, for they overpower me. Your hair falls in waves, like a flock of goats winding down the slopes of Gilead.

6 당신의 이는 목욕하고 나와 방금 털을 깎은 암양 떼와 같습니다. 하나하나가 모두 짝을 이루어 그 가운데 홀로된 것이 없네요.

6 Your teeth are as white as sheep that are freshly washed. Your smile is flawless, each tooth matched with its twin.

7 베일 너머 당신의 뺨은 쪼개 놓은 석류 한쪽 같군요.

7 Your cheeks are like rosy pomegranates behind your veil.

8 60명의 왕비가 있고 80명의 후궁이 있으며 궁녀들은 수도 없이 많지만

8 Even among sixty queens and eighty concubines and countless young women,

9 내 비둘기, 온전한 내 사람은 하나뿐입니다. 어머니의 외동딸이며 그녀를 낳은 어머니가 가장 귀히 여기는 딸, 젊은 여인들이 그녀를 보고 복이 있다 말하고 왕비들과 후궁들도 그녀를 칭찬합니다.

9 I would still choose my dove, my perfect one - the favorite of her mother, dearly loved by the one who bore her. The young women see her and praise her; even queens and royal concubines sing her praises.

10 <친구들> 새벽처럼 찬란하고 달과 같이 아름답고 해와 같이 빛나며 깃발을 높이 든 군대처럼 위엄 있는 여자가 누구일까요?

10 "Who is this, arising like the dawn, as fair as the moon, as bright as the sun, as majestic as an army with billowing banners?"

11 <솔로몬> 내가 골짜기에 새로 난 것들, 포도나무에 싹이 났는지 석류나무에 꽃이 피었는지 보려고 호두나무 동산으로 내려갔을 때

11 I went down to the grove of walnut trees and out to the valley to see the new spring growth, to see whether the grapevines had budded or the pomegranates were in bloom.

12 나도 모르는 사이에 내 마음이 나를 이끌어 백성들의 존귀한 병거 위로 올라타게 합니다.

12 Before I realized it, I found myself in the royal chariot with my beloved.

13 <친구들> 돌아와요, 돌아와요, 술람미여. 돌아와요, 돌아와요, 우리가 그대를 볼 수 있도록.

13 [Young Women of Jerusalem] Return, return to us, O maid of Shulam. Come back, come back, that we may see you again. [Young Man] Why do you stare at this young woman of Shulam, as she moves so gracefully between two lines of dancers?

14 <솔로몬> 그대들은 왜 마하나임이 춤추는 것을 보듯 술람미를 보려고 합니까?

14 How beautiful are your sandaled feet, O queenly maiden. Your rounded thighs are like jewels, the work of a skilled craftsman.

1 귀한 사람의 딸이여, 신을 신은 그대의 발이 얼마나 아름다운지요. 우아한 그대의 다리는 장인의 손으로 정성 들여 세공한 보석과 같습니다.

1 Your navel is perfectly formed like a goblet filled with mixed wine. Between your thighs lies a mound of wheat bordered with lilies.

2 당신의 배꼽은 혼합 포도주를 가득 부은 둥근 잔 같고 그대의 허리는 백합화로 두른 밀단 같습니다.

2 Your breasts are like two fawns, twin fawns of a gazelle.

3 그대의 젖가슴은 암사슴의 쌍둥이 새끼 같고

3 Your neck is as beautiful as an ivory tower. Your eyes are like the sparkling pools in Heshbon by the gate of Bath-rabbim. Your nose is as fine as the tower of Lebanon overlooking Damascus.

4 그대의 목은 상아탑 같습니다. 그대의 눈은 바드랍빔 문 곁에 있는 헤스본 연못 같고 그대의 코는 다메섹을 향한 레바논 탑 같습니다.

4 Your head is as majestic as Mount Carmel, and the sheen of your hair radiates royalty. The king is held captive by its tresses.

5 그대의 머리는 갈멜 산처럼 그대에게 왕관이 되고 그대의 머리칼은 붉은 융단 같습니다. 왕이 그 머리칼에 포로가 되고 말았습니다.

5 Oh, how beautiful you are! How pleasing, my love, how full of delights!

6 내 사랑이여, 그대가 얼마나 아름답고 얼마나 매혹적인지 나를 기쁘게 하네요.

6 You are slender like a palm tree, and your breasts are like its clusters of fruit.

7 그대의 키는 종려나무처럼 크고 늘씬하며 그대의 젖가슴은 그 열매 송이 같아요.

7 I said, "I will climb the palm tree and take hold of its fruit." May your breasts be like grape clusters, and the fragrance of your breath like apples.

8 나는 말했습니다. "내가 그 종려나무에 올라가서 그 열매를 따오겠어요." 그대 젖가슴은 포도송이 같고 그대 콧김은 사과 향내 같으며

8 May your kisses be as exciting as the best wine, flowing gently over lips and teeth.

9 그대 입은 가장 귀한 포도주 같습니다. <술람미> 그 포도주가 내 사랑하는 그분에게로 가서 그 입술과 이로 부드럽게 흘러가기를.

9 [Young Woman] I am my lover's, and he claims me as his own.

10 나는 내가 사랑하는 그분의 것이고 그분의 마음은 나를 향해 있습니다.

10 Come, my love, let us go out to the fields and spend the night among the wildflowers.

11 내가 사랑하는 분이여, 우리 함께 들로 나가요. 그곳 마을에서 밤을 지내요.

11 Let us get up early and go to the vineyards to see if the grapevines have budded, if the blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates have bloomed. There I will give you my love.

12 이른 아침 포도원에 나가 포도 싹이 돋았는지, 꽃이 피었는지, 석류꽃이 피었는지 함께 봐요. 거기서 제 사랑을 드리겠어요.

12 There the mandrakes give off their fragrance, and the finest fruits are at our door, new delights as well as old, which I have saved for you, my lover.

13 자귀나무가 향기를 발하고 우리 문 앞에는 온갖 탐스러운 열매들이 있어요. 새것도 묵은 것도 내 사랑하는 분이여, 내가 당신을 위해 간직해 두었답니다.

13 [Young Woman] Oh, I wish you were my brother, who nursed at my mother's breasts. Then I could kiss you no matter who was watching, and no one would criticize me.

1 당신이 내 오빠였다면, 내 어머니의 젖을 먹고 자란 오빠였다면 내가 밖에서 당신을 만나 입을 맞춰도 아무도 내게 손가락질하지 않을 텐데.

1 I would bring you to my childhood home, and there you would teach me. I would give you spiced wine to drink, my sweet pomegranate wine.

2 내가 당신을 이끌어 나를 가르치신 내 어머니의 집으로 모셔 올 텐데. 내가 향기로운 포도주를, 내 석류주를 당신께 드릴 텐데.

2 Your left arm would be under my head, and your right arm would embrace me.

3 Promise me, O women of Jerusalem, not to awaken love until the time is right.

4 예루살렘의 딸들이여, 내가 부탁합니다. 그가 원하기 전까지는 내 사랑을 일으키지 말고 깨우지 마세요.

4 [Young Women of Jerusalem] Who is this sweeping in from the desert, leaning on her lover? [Young Woman] I aroused you under the apple tree, where your mother gave you birth, where in great pain she delivered you.

6 Many waters cannot quench love, nor can rivers drown it. If a man tried to buy love with all his wealth, his offer would be utterly scorned.

7 많은 물도 그 사랑의 불을 끌 수 없으며 홍수도 그것을 덮어 끌 수 없습니다. 누군가 자기 모든 재산을 다 주고 사랑과 바꾸려 한다면 그는 웃음거리가 될 것입니다.

7 [The Young Woman's Brothers] We have a little sister too young to have breasts. What will we do for our sister if someone asks to marry her?

9 [Young Woman] I was a virgin, like a wall; now my breasts are like towers. When my lover looks at me, he is delighted with what he sees.

10 <술람미> 나는 성벽이며 내 젖가슴은 망대 같으니 그분이 보시기에 만족할 거예요.

10 Solomon has a vineyard at Baal-hamon, which he leases out to tenant farmers. Each of them pays a thousand pieces of silver for harvesting its fruit.

11 솔로몬께서는 바알하몬에 포도원을 가지셨는데 가꾸는 자들에게 그 포도원을 맡겨 두시고 그들이 열매의 값으로 은 1,000세겔을 가져오도록 하셨습니다.

11 But my vineyard is mine to give, and Solomon need not pay a thousand pieces of silver. But I will give two hundred pieces to those who care for its vines.

12 그러나 내 포도원은 내 마음대로 할 수 있으니 솔로몬이여, 당신을 위한 1,000세겔이 있습니다. 그리고 포도원을 가꾸는 사람들을 위한 200세겔이 있습니다.

12 [Young Man] O my darling, lingering in the gardens, your companions are fortunate to hear your voice. Let me hear it, too!

13 <솔로몬> 동산에서 거하는 그대여, 친구들이 그대의 음성에 귀 기울이고 있어요. 내게 그대 목소리를 들려주세요.

13 [Young Woman] Come away, my love! Be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountains of spices.

14 <술람미> 내가 사랑하는 분이여, 서둘러 오세요. 향기로운 산에 있는 노루처럼, 어린 사슴처럼 내게로.

14 These are the visions that Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. He saw these visions during the years when Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were kings of Judah.
