1 <요시야가 유월절을 지키다 (왕하 23:21-23)> 요시야는 예루살렘에서 유월절을 지켰습니다. 첫째 달 14일에 유월절 양을 잡았습니다.

1 Then Josiah announced that the Passover of the LORD would be celebrated in Jerusalem, and so the Passover lamb was slaughtered on the fourteenth day of the first month.

2 요시야는 제사장들에게 일을 맡기고 여호와의 성전에서 일하는 그들을 격려했습니다.

2 Josiah also assigned the priests to their duties and encouraged them in their work at the Temple of the LORD.

3 그가 온 이스라엘을 가르치고 여호와께 자신을 거룩하게 구별했던 그 레위 사람들에게 말했습니다. "이스라엘 왕 다윗의 아들인 솔로몬이 지은 성전에 거룩한 궤를 두라. 그것을 다시는 너희 어깨에 메어 옮기지 말라. 마땅히 너희 하나님 여호와와 그분의 백성 이스라엘을 섬기라.

3 He issued this order to the Levites, who were to teach all Israel and who had been set apart to serve the LORD： "Put the holy Ark in the Temple that was built by Solomon son of David, the king of Israel. You no longer need to carry it back and forth on your shoulders. Now spend your time serving the LORD your God and his people Israel.

4 이스라엘 왕 다윗과 그 아들 솔로몬의 글을 따라 너희 족속의 순서대로 스스로 준비하라.

4 Report for duty according to the family divisions of your ancestors, following the directions of King David of Israel and the directions of his son Solomon.

5 너희 형제, 곧 모든 백성의 족속의 순서대로, 또 레위 족속의 순서대로 성소에 서서

5 "Then stand in the sanctuary at the place appointed for your family division and help the families assigned to you as they bring their offerings to the Temple.

6 유월절 양을 잡고 너희 자신을 거룩하게 구별하고 너희 형제들을 위해 양들을 준비해 여호와께서 모세를 통해 명령하신 대로 행하라."

6 Slaughter the Passover lambs, purify yourselves, and prepare to help those who come. Follow all the directions that the LORD gave through Moses."

7 요시야는 거기 모인 모든 백성들에게 유월절 제물로 양과 어린 염소 3만 마리와 수소 3,000마리를 자기가 가진 것 가운데 내주었습니다.

7 Then Josiah provided 30,000 lambs and young goats for the people's Passover offerings, along with 3,000 cattle, all from the king's own flocks and herds.

8 그의 신하들도 스스로 백성들과 제사장들과 레위 사람들에게 바쳤습니다. 하나님의 성전을 섬기는 힐기야, 스가랴, 여히엘은 제사장들에게 유월절 양 2,600마리와 수소 300마리를 내주었습니다.

8 The king's officials also made willing contributions to the people, priests, and Levites. Hilkiah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, the administrators of God's Temple, gave the priests 2,600 lambs and young goats and 300 cattle as Passover offerings.

9 또한 레위 사람들의 지도자들인 고나냐와 그 형제들인 스마야와 느다넬, 또 하사뱌, 여이엘, 요사밧은 유월절 제물로 양 5,000마리와 소 500마리를 레위 사람들에게 주었습니다.

9 The Levite leaders - Conaniah and his brothers Shemaiah and Nethanel, as well as Hashabiah, Jeiel, and Jozabad - gave 5,000 lambs and young goats and 500 cattle to the Levites for their Passover offerings.

10 예배가 준비되자 제사장들과 레위 사람들은 왕의 명령에 따라 자기 자리에 섰습니다.

10 When everything was ready for the Passover celebration, the priests and the Levites took their places, organized by their divisions, as the king had commanded.

11 유월절 양을 잡아서 제사장들은 그 피를 받아 뿌렸고 레위 사람들은 잡은 짐승의 가죽을 벗기고

11 The Levites then slaughtered the Passover lambs and presented the blood to the priests, who sprinkled the blood on the altar while the Levites prepared the animals.

12 번제물을 옆으로 옮겨 모세의 책에 기록된 대로 백성들의 족속의 순서에 따라 모두 여호와께 드릴 수 있도록 했습니다. 그들은 소도 그렇게 했습니다.

12 They divided the burnt offerings among the people by their family groups, so they could offer them to the LORD as prescribed in the Book of Moses. They did the same with the cattle.

13 그들은 유월절 양들을 정해진 대로 불에 굽고 거룩한 예물들은 솥과 가마와 냄비에 삶아 모든 백성들에게 곧바로 나눠 주었습니다.

13 Then they roasted the Passover lambs as prescribed; and they boiled the holy offerings in pots, kettles, and pans, and brought them out quickly so the people could eat them.

14 이후에 그들은 자신들과 제사장들을 위한 준비를 했습니다. 아론의 자손인 제사장들은 밤이 될 때까지 번제물과 기름을 드렸습니다. 그리하여 레위 사람들은 자기들과 아론의 제사장들을 위해 준비를 했습니다.

14 Afterward the Levites prepared Passover offerings for themselves and for the priests - the descendants of Aaron - because the priests had been busy from morning till night offering the burnt offerings and the fat portions. The Levites took responsibility for all these preparations.

15 아삽의 자손인 노래하는 사람들은 다윗과 아삽과 헤만과 왕의 선견자 여두둔이 명령한 곳에 있었습니다. 각 문을 지키는 문지기들은 자기 자리를 떠나지 않았습니다. 그의 형제 레위 사람들이 그들을 위한 준비를 했기 때문입니다.

15 The musicians, descendants of Asaph, were in their assigned places, following the commands that had been given by David, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, the king's seer. The gatekeepers guarded the gates and did not need to leave their posts of duty, for their Passover offerings were prepared for them by their fellow Levites.

16 그날 이렇게 여호와를 섬기는 모든 일이 잘 준비돼 요시야 왕이 명령한 대로 유월절을 지키고 번제물을 여호와의 제단에 드렸습니다.

16 The entire ceremony for the LORD's Passover was completed that day. All the burnt offerings were sacrificed on the altar of the LORD, as King Josiah had commanded.

17 거기 모인 이스라엘 백성들은 유월절을 지키고 이어서 7일 동안 무교절을 지켰습니다.

17 All the Israelites present in Jerusalem celebrated Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days.

18 이렇게 유월절을 지킨 것은 예언자 사무엘의 시대 이래로 이스라엘에서 한 번도 없었습니다. 그리고 이스라엘의 어떤 왕도 요시야가 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 예루살렘 백성들과 거기 모인 온 유다와 이스라엘 사람들과 함께 지킨 그런 유월절을 지킨 적이 없었습니다.

18 Never since the time of the prophet Samuel had there been such a Passover. None of the kings of Israel had ever kept a Passover as Josiah did, involving all the priests and Levites, all the people of Jerusalem, and people from all over Judah and Israel.

19 이 유월절은 요시야가 다스리던 18년에 지켰습니다.

19 This Passover celebration took place in the eighteenth year of Josiah's reign.

20 <요시야의 죽음 (왕하 23:28-30)> 이 모든 일 후, 곧 요시야가 성전을 잘 정돈한 뒤에 이집트 왕 느고가 유프라테스 강 가에 있는 갈그미스를 치려고 올라왔습니다. 요시야는 그를 맞아 싸우러 나갔습니다.

20 After Josiah had finished restoring the Temple, King Neco of Egypt led his army up from Egypt to do battle at Carchemish on the Euphrates River, and Josiah and his army marched out to fight him.

21 느고는 요시야에게 사람을 보내 말했습니다. "유다 왕이여, 왕과 내가 무슨 상관이 있겠소? 내가 이번에 치려는 것은 왕이 아니라 나와 싸우는 그 족속이오. 하나님께서 나로 속히 하도록 명령하셨소. 하나님께서 나와 함께 계시니 하나님을 막는 짓을 멈추시오. 그래야 하나님께서 왕을 멸망시키지 않으실 것이오."

21 But King Neco sent messengers to Josiah with this message： "What do you want with me, king of Judah? I have no quarrel with you today! I am on my way to fight another nation, and God has told me to hurry! Do not interfere with God, who is with me, or he will destroy you."

22 그러나 요시야는 물러나기를 싫어하고 그와 싸우기 위해 변장했습니다. 요시야는 느고가 하나님의 명령으로 한 말을 듣지 않고 그와 싸우러 므깃도 평지로 나갔습니다.

22 But Josiah refused to listen to Neco, to whom God had indeed spoken, and he would not turn back. Instead, he disguised himself and led his army into battle on the plain of Megiddo.

23 싸우는 가운데 활 쏘는 사람들이 요시야 왕을 쏘아 맞혔습니다. 요시야는 자기 신하에게 말했습니다. "내가 많이 다쳤으니 나를 데려가라."

23 But the enemy archers hit King Josiah with their arrows and wounded him. He cried out to his men, "Take me from the battle, for I am badly wounded!"

24 신하들은 왕의 전차에 있던 요시야를 다른 전차에 옮겨 태우고 예루살렘으로 모셔 왔지만 요시야는 예루살렘에 이른 후에 죽었습니다. 요시야는 자기 조상들의 무덤에 묻혔고 온 유다와 예루살렘이 그를 위해 슬퍼했습니다.

24 So they lifted Josiah out of his chariot and placed him in another chariot. Then they brought him back to Jerusalem, where he died. He was buried there in the royal cemetery. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for him.

25 예레미야는 요시야를 위해 슬퍼하는 노래를 지었고 오늘날까지 모든 노래하는 남자들과 여자들이 이 슬픈 노래로 요시야를 기리고 있습니다. 이 노래들은 이스라엘에 지금까지 내려오며 가사는 애가 가운데 적혀 있습니다.

25 The prophet Jeremiah composed funeral songs for Josiah, and to this day choirs still sing these sad songs about his death. These songs of sorrow have become a tradition and are recorded in The Book of Laments.

26 The rest of the events of Josiah's reign and his acts of devotion (carried out according to what was written in the Law of the LORD),

27 from beginning to end - all are recorded in The Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.

36.

1 그 땅의 사람들이 요시야의 아들 여호아하스를 데려다가 그 아버지의 뒤를 이어 예루살렘에서 왕으로 삼았습니다.

1 Then the people of the land took Josiah's son Jehoahaz and made him the next king in Jerusalem.

2 <유다 왕 여호아하스 (왕하 23:31-35)> 여호아하스는 23세에 왕이 됐고 예루살렘에서 3개월 동안 다스렸습니다.

2 Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months.

3 이집트 왕이 그를 예루살렘의 왕의 자리에서 쫓아냈습니다. 그리고 유다로 하여금 은 100달란트와 금 1달란트를 바치게 했습니다.

3 Then he was deposed by the king of Egypt, who demanded that Judah pay 7,500 pounds of silver and 75 pounds of gold as tribute.

4 이집트 왕은 여호아하스의 형제인 엘리아김을 유다와 예루살렘을 다스릴 왕으로 세웠고 엘리아김의 이름을 여호야김으로 바꿨습니다. 그러나 느고는 엘리아김의 형제인 여호아하스를 이집트로 데려갔습니다.

4 The king of Egypt then installed Eliakim, the brother of Jehoahaz, as the next king of Judah and Jerusalem, and he changed Eliakim's name to Jehoiakim. Then Neco took Jehoahaz to Egypt as a prisoner.

5 <유다 왕 여호야김 (왕하 23:36-24:7)> 여호야김은 25세에 왕이 됐고 예루살렘에서 11년 동안 다스렸습니다. 그는 여호와의 눈앞에서 악한 일을 저질렀습니다.

5 Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eleven years. He did what was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.

6 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 그 땅을 공격해 여호야김을 쇠사슬로 묶어 바벨론으로 끌고 갔습니다.

6 Then King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came to Jerusalem and captured it, and he bound Jehoiakim in bronze chains and led him away to Babylon.

7 느부갓네살은 또 여호와의 성전에서 기구들을 바벨론으로 가져가 자기 신전에 두었습니다.

7 Nebuchadnezzar also took some of the treasures from the Temple of the LORD, and he placed them in his palace in Babylon.

8 여호야김이 다스리던 다른 일들과 그가 했던 역겨운 짓들과 그의 못된 짓들은 이스라엘과 유다의 왕들의 역사책에 적혀 있습니다. 그리고 그 아들 여호야긴이 뒤를 이어 왕이 됐습니다.

8 The rest of the events in Jehoiakim's reign, including all the evil things he did and everything found against him, are recorded in The Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah. Then his son Jehoiachin became the next king.

9 <유다 왕 여호야긴 (왕하 24:8-17)> 여호야긴은 8세에 왕이 됐고 예루살렘에서 3개월 10일을 다스렸습니다. 그는 여호와의 눈앞에서 악한 일을 저질렀습니다.

9 Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months and ten days. Jehoiachin did what was evil in the LORD's sight.

10 새해 초에 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 그에게 사람을 보내 그를 바벨론으로 데려갔는데 그때 여호와의 성전에 있는 값진 물건들도 함께 가져갔습니다. 그는 여호야긴의 삼촌 시드기야를 유다와 예루살렘을 다스릴 왕으로 삼았습니다.

10 In the spring of the year King Nebuchadnezzar took Jehoiachin to Babylon. Many treasures from the Temple of the LORD were also taken to Babylon at that time. And Nebuchadnezzar installed Jehoiachin's uncle, Zedekiah, as the next king in Judah and Jerusalem.

11 <유다 왕 시드기야 (왕하 24:18-20;25:1-21;렘 52:1-11)> 시드기야는 21세에 왕이 됐고 예루살렘에서 11년 동안 다스렸습니다.

11 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eleven years.

12 시드기야는 하나님 여호와의 눈앞에서 악한 일을 저질렀고 예언자 예레미야가 여호와의 말씀을 전했으나 겸손하게 듣지 않았습니다.

12 He did what was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and he refused to humble himself when the prophet Jeremiah spoke to him directly from the LORD.

13 느부갓네살 왕은 그로 하여금 하나님의 이름으로 충성을 맹세하도록 했는데 왕은 느부갓네살에게 반항했습니다. 그는 목이 곧고 마음을 굳게 해 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께 돌아오지 않았습니다.

13 He also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, even though he had taken an oath of loyalty in God's name. Zedekiah was a hard and stubborn man, refusing to turn to the LORD, the God of Israel.

14 제사장들의 모든 지도자들과 백성들도 저 민족들의 모든 역겨운 일들을 따라 했습니다. 그들은 여호와께서 예루살렘에서 거룩하게 구별하신 여호와의 성전을 더럽히면서 더욱 죄를 범했습니다.

14 Likewise, all the leaders of the priests and the people became more and more unfaithful. They followed all the pagan practices of the surrounding nations, desecrating the Temple of the LORD that had been consecrated in Jerusalem.

15 <예루살렘의 멸망> 그들의 조상들의 하나님 여호와께서 그분의 예언자들을 보내 계속 말씀하셨습니다. 이는 그분이 그분의 백성들과 그분이 택하신 곳을 불쌍히 여기셨기 때문입니다.

15 The LORD, the God of their ancestors, repeatedly sent his prophets to warn them, for he had compassion on his people and his Temple.

16 그러나 그들은 하나님께서 보낸 예언자들을 조롱하고 그들의 말을 무시했으며 그분의 예언자들을 비웃었습니다. 마침내 여호와의 진노가 그분의 백성들을 향해 일어났고 전혀 돌이킬 길이 없게 됐습니다.

16 But the people mocked these messengers of God and despised their words. They scoffed at the prophets until the LORD's anger could no longer be restrained and nothing could be done.

17 그분은 그들을 바벨론 왕의 손에 붙이셨습니다. 바벨론 사람들이 와서 성소에서 젊은 사람들을 칼로 죽였습니다. 젊은 남자나 여자, 약한 사람이나 건강한 사람을 가리지 않고 죽였습니다. 하나님께서는 그들을 모두 느부갓네살에게 넘겨주셨습니다.

17 So the LORD brought the king of Babylon against them. The Babylonians killed Judah's young men, even chasing after them into the Temple. They had no pity on the people, killing both young men and young women, the old and the infirm. God handed all of them over to Nebuchadnezzar.

18 느부갓네살은 하나님의 성전에서 크고 작은 모든 물건과 여호와의 성전에 있는 보물과 왕과 신하들의 보물들을 바벨론으로 가져갔습니다.

18 The king took home to Babylon all the articles, large and small, used in the Temple of God, and the treasures from both the LORD's Temple and from the palace of the king and his officials.

19 그들은 하나님의 성전에 불을 지르고 예루살렘 성벽을 무너뜨렸습니다. 그들은 모든 왕궁과 거기 있는 모든 값진 것을 부숴 버렸습니다.

19 Then his army burned the Temple of God, tore down the walls of Jerusalem, burned all the palaces, and completely destroyed everything of value.

20 느부갓네살의 칼을 피해 살아남은 사람들은 바벨론으로 끌려갔고 거기서 느부갓네살 왕과 그의 아들들의 종이 됐습니다. 페르시아 제국이 바벨론을 물리칠 때까지 그렇게 살았습니다.

20 The few who survived were taken as exiles to Babylon, and they became servants to the king and his sons until the kingdom of Persia came to power.

21 예레미야를 통해 하신 여호와의 말씀이 이루어져 땅이 안식년을 누림같이 70년 동안 황폐했습니다.

21 So the message of the LORD spoken through Jeremiah was fulfilled. The land finally enjoyed its Sabbath rest, lying desolate until the seventy years were fulfilled, just as the prophet had said.

22 페르시아 왕 고레스 1년에 여호와께서 예레미야를 통해 하신 말씀을 이루셨습니다. 여호와께서 페르시아 왕 고레스의 마음을 감동시키시니, 그가 나라 온 지역에 칙령을 내려 이렇게 널리 알렸습니다.

22 In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, the LORD fulfilled the prophecy he had given through Jeremiah. He stirred the heart of Cyrus to put this proclamation in writing and to send it throughout his kingdom.

23 "페르시아 왕 고레스는 말한다. '하늘의 하나님 여호와께서 세상의 모든 나라들을 내게 주셨다. 하나님께서 나를 세우셔서 유다의 예루살렘에 성전을 짓게 하셨다. 이제 너희 가운데 하나님의 백성인 사람은 누구나 다 예루살렘으로 돌아가도록 하라. 하나님 여호와께서 너희와 함께하실 것이다.'"

23 "This is what King Cyrus of Persia says： "The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth. He has appointed me to build him a Temple at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Any of you who are the LORD's people may go there for this task. And may the LORD your God be with you!"
