11.
1 <다윗이 이스라엘의 왕이 되다 (삼하 5:1-10)> 온 이스라엘이 헤브론에 있는 다윗에게 몰려와 말했습니다. "우리는 왕의 혈육입니다.
1 Then all Israel gathered before David at Hebron and told him, "We are your own flesh and blood.
2 전에 사울이 왕이었을 때도 이스라엘을 이끌고 전쟁터에 나가신 분은 왕이셨습니다. 또 왕의 하나님 여호와께서 '네가 내 백성 이스라엘의 목자가 되고 내 백성 이스라엘을 다스리게 될 것이다'라고 말씀하셨습니다."
2 In the past, even when Saul was king, you were the one who really led the forces of Israel. And the LORD your God told you, 'You will be the shepherd of my people Israel. You will be the leader of my people Israel.'"
3 이스라엘의 모든 장로들이 헤브론에 있는 다윗 왕에게 오자 다윗은 여호와 앞에서 그들과 약속을 맺었습니다. 여호와께서 사무엘을 통해 약속하신 대로 이루어졌습니다. 그들은 다윗을 온 이스라엘을 다스릴 왕으로 세웠습니다.
3 So there at Hebron, David made a covenant before the LORD with all the elders of Israel. And they anointed him king of Israel, just as the LORD had promised through Samuel.
4 <다윗이 예루살렘을 정복하다> 다윗과 온 이스라엘 군사들은 예루살렘, 곧 여부스로 갔습니다. 그곳에 여부스 사람들이 살았습니다.
4 Then David and all Israel went to Jerusalem (or Jebus, as it used to be called), where the Jebusites, the original inhabitants of the land, were living.
5 여부스 사람들이 "너는 여기 들어올 수 없다"라고 다윗에게 말했지만 다윗은 시온 산성을 빼앗고 다윗 성이라고 불렀습니다.
5 The people of Jebus taunted David, saying, "You'll never get in here!" But David captured the fortress of Zion, which is now called the City of David.
6 다윗은 "누구든 앞장서서 여부스를 공격하는 사람은 사령관이 될 것이다"라고 말했습니다. 그 말을 듣고 스루야의 아들 요압이 먼저 올라가 여부스를 공격해 사령관이 됐습니다.
6 David had said to his troops, "Whoever is first to attack the Jebusites will become the commander of my armies!" And Joab, the son of David's sister Zeruiah, was first to attack, so he became the commander of David's armies.
7 그 후 다윗은 그 산성에서 살았고 그 성은 다윗 성으로 불렸습니다.
7 David made the fortress his home, and that is why it is called the City of David.
8 다윗은 성을 다시 쌓았는데 밀로에서부터 성벽을 쌓았고 성의 나머지 부분을 요압이 다시 쌓았습니다.
8 He extended the city from the supporting terraces to the surrounding area, while Joab rebuilt the rest of Jerusalem.
9 만군의 여호와께서 다윗과 함께 계셨기 때문에 다윗은 점점 더 강해졌습니다.
9 And David became more and more powerful, because the LORD of Heaven's Armies was with him.
10 <다윗의 용사들 (삼하 23:8-39)> 다윗이 거느리는 용사들의 우두머리들은 이렇습니다. 이 사람들은 온 이스라엘과 함께 다윗을 도와 나라를 얻게 하고 다윗이 왕이 돼서 왕의 힘이 온 땅에 미치도록 도와주었는데 여호와께서 약속하신 대로 이루어졌습니다.
10 These are the leaders of David's mighty warriors. Together with all Israel, they decided to make David their king, just as the LORD had promised concerning Israel.
11 다윗의 용사들은 이러합니다. 학몬 사람의 아들 야소브암은 30명의 우두머리였는데 그는 창을 들어 300명을 단번에 죽였습니다.
11 Here is the record of David's mightiest warriors： The first was Jashobeam the Hacmonite, who was leader of the Three - the mightiest warriors among David's men. He once used his spear to kill 300 enemy warriors in a single battle.
12 그다음으로는 아호아 사람 도도의 아들 엘르아살인데 그는 세 용사 가운데 하나였습니다.
12 Next in rank among the Three was Eleazar son of Dodai, a descendant of Ahoah.
13 엘르아살은 블레셋 사람들이 싸우려고 바스담밈에 모였을 때 다윗과 함께 있었습니다. 보리가 가득한 밭이 있었는데 이스라엘 군사들은 블레셋 사람들에게서 도망쳤지만
13 He was with David in the battle against the Philistines at Pas-dammim. The battle took place in a field full of barley, and the Israelite army fled.
14 그는 보리밭 한가운데 굳게 서서 밭을 지키며 블레셋 사람들을 죽였습니다. 여호와께서 이스라엘에 큰 승리를 가져다주셨습니다.
14 But Eleazar and David held their ground in the middle of the field and beat back the Philistines. So the LORD saved them by giving them a great victory.
15 블레셋 무리가 르바임 골짜기에 진을 치고 있을 때 30명의 우두머리 가운데 세 사람이 아둘람 동굴에 있는 다윗에게 내려왔습니다.
15 Once when David was at the rock near the cave of Adullam, the Philistine army was camped in the valley of Rephaim. The Three (who were among the Thirty - an elite group among David's fighting men) went down to meet him there.
16 그때 다윗은 요새 가운데 있었고 블레셋 군대는 베들레헴에 머물러 있었습니다.
16 David was staying in the stronghold at the time, and a Philistine detachment had occupied the town of Bethlehem.

17 David remarked longingly to his men, "Oh, how I would love some of that good water from the well by the gate in Bethlehem."
18 이 말을 듣고 그 세 용사가 블레셋 군사들을 뚫고 베들레헴 성문 곁 우물에서 물을 떠서 다윗에게 가져왔습니다. 그러나 다윗은 세 용사가 가져온 물을 기꺼이 마시지 않고 여호와께 부어 드렸습니다.
18 So the Three broke through the Philistine lines, drew some water from the well by the gate in Bethlehem, and brought it back to David. But David refused to drink it. Instead, he poured it out as an offering to the LORD.
19 다윗이 말했습니다. "하나님이여, 저는 이 물을 마시지 못하겠습니다! 자기 목숨을 걸고 갔다 온 이 사람들의 피를 제가 어떻게 마실 수 있겠습니까?" 그들이 물을 길어 오려고 목숨을 걸었기에 다윗은 마실 수 없었습니다. 이것이 세 용사들이 한 일이었습니다.
19 "God forbid that I should drink this!" he exclaimed. "This water is as precious as the blood of these men who risked their lives to bring it to me." So David did not drink it. These are examples of the exploits of the Three.
20 요압의 동생 아비새는 이 세 용사들 중 우두머리였습니다. 그는 창을 들어 300명을 죽였는데 이 일로 세 용사 가운데 유명해졌습니다.
20 Abishai, the brother of Joab, was the leader of the Thirty. He once used his spear to kill 300 enemy warriors in a single battle. It was by such feats that he became as famous as the Three.
21 아비새는 둘째 세 용사보다 더 큰 명예를 얻었으나 첫째 세 용사 안에 들지는 못하고 그들의 사령관이 됐습니다.
21 Abishai was the most famous of the Thirty and was their commander, though he was not one of the Three.
22 여호야다의 아들인 브나야는 용사의 아들이며 갑스엘 사람으로 많은 행적을 남겼습니다. 그는 사자같이 용맹한 모압 사람 둘을 죽였고 눈 오는 날 함정에 내려가 사자를 죽이기도 했습니다.
22 There was also Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant warrior from Kabzeel. He did many heroic deeds, which included killing two champions of Moab. Another time, on a snowy day, he chased a lion down into a pit and killed it.
23 또 5규빗이나 되는 큰 이집트 사람을 쓰러뜨리기도 했습니다. 그 이집트 사람이 베틀 채 같은 창을 손에 가지고 있었지만 브나야는 몽둥이를 들고 그에게로 달려가 이집트 사람의 손에서 창을 빼앗아 그 창으로 이집트 사람을 죽였습니다.
23 Once, armed only with a club, he killed an Egyptian warrior who was 7 1/2 feet tall and whose spear was as thick as a weaver's beam. Benaiah wrenched the spear from the Egyptian's hand and killed him with it.
24 여호야다의 아들 브나야가 이런 일을 했으므로 그 또한 세 용사들만큼이나 유명했습니다.
24 Deeds like these made Benaiah as famous as the three mightiest warriors.
25 그는 30명의 우두머리 가운데 어느 누구보다 큰 존경을 받았으나 첫째 세 용사들 안에 들지는 못했습니다. 다윗은 브나야를 자기 경호 대장으로 삼았습니다.
25 He was more honored than the other members of the Thirty, though he was not one of the Three. And David made him captain of his bodyguard.
26 그 밖의 용사들은 이러합니다. 요압의 동생 아사헬, 베들레헴 사람 도도의 아들 엘하난,
26 David's mighty warriors also included： Asahel, Joab's brother; Elhanan son of Dodo from Bethlehem;
27 하롤 사람 삼훗, 블론 사람 헬레스,
27 Shammah from Harod; Helez from Pelon;
28 드고아 사람 익게스의 아들 이라, 아나돗 사람 아비에셀,
28 Ira son of Ikkesh from Tekoa; Abiezer from Anathoth;

29 Sibbecai from Hushah; Zalmon from Ahoah;

12.
1 <용사들이 다윗과 함께하다> 다음 사람들은 다윗이 기스의 아들 사울에게 쫓겨났을 때 시글락으로 다윗에게 찾아온 사람들이며 전쟁터에서 다윗을 도운 용사들이기도 합니다.
1 The following men joined David at Ziklag while he was hiding from Saul son of Kish. They were among the warriors who fought beside David in battle.
2 이들은 활을 가졌고 오른손과 왼손, 곧 양손으로 화살을 쏘거나 무릿매 돌을 던질 수 있었으며 베냐민 지파 출신으로 사울의 친척들이었습니다.
2 All of them were expert archers, and they could shoot arrows or sling stones with their left hand as well as their right. They were all relatives of Saul from the tribe of Benjamin.
3 그들의 우두머리는 아히에셀이고 그다음은 요아스인데 이들은 기브아 사람 스마아의 두 아들입니다. 또 아스마3의 아들 여시엘과 벨렛, 브라가, 아나돗 사람 예후도
3 Their leader was Ahiezer son of Shemaah from Gibeah; his brother Joash was second-in-command. These were the other warriors： Jeziel and Pelet, sons of Azmaveth; Beracah; Jehu from Anathoth;
4 30명의 용사에 들었습니다. 30명의 지도자 격인 사람은 기브온 사람 이스마야와 예레미야, 야하시엘, 요하난, 그데라 사람 요사밧,
4 Ishmaiah from Gibeon, a famous warrior and leader among the Thirty; Jeremiah, Jahaziel, Johanan, and Jozabad from Gederah;

5 Eluzai, Jerimoth, Bealiah, Shemariah, and Shephatiah from Haruph;

8 Some brave and experienced warriors from the tribe of Gad also defected to David while he was at the stronghold in the wilderness. They were expert with both shield and spear, as fierce as lions and as swift as deer on the mountains.

9 Ezer was their leader. Obadiah was second. Eliab was third.

10 Mishmannah was fourth. Jeremiah was fifth.

11 Attai was sixth. Eliel was seventh.
12 여덟째 요하난, 아홉째 엘사밧,
12 Johanan was eighth. Elzabad was ninth.
13 열째 예레미야, 열한째 막반내입니다.
13 Jeremiah was tenth. Macbannai was eleventh.
14 이 갓 사람은 군대 사령관이 돼 작게는 100명을 지휘하고 크게는 1,000명을 지휘했습니다.
14 These warriors from Gad were army commanders. The weakest among them could take on a hundred regular troops, and the strongest could take on a thousand!
15 이들이 첫째 달에 요단 강 물이 모든 언덕에 넘칠 때 강을 건너가 골짜기에 살고 있는 모든 사람을 쫓아내서 동쪽과 서쪽으로 도망치게 했습니다.
15 These were the men who crossed the Jordan River during its seasonal flooding at the beginning of the year and drove out all the people living in the lowlands on both the east and west banks.

16 Others from Benjamin and Judah came to David at the stronghold.

17 David went out to meet them and said, "If you have come in peace to help me, we are friends. But if you have come to betray me to my enemies when I am innocent, then may the God of our ancestors see it and punish you."
18 그때 성령께서 30명 용사의 우두머리인 아마새에게 오셔서 아마새를 사로잡았습니다. 아마새가 말했습니다. "다윗이여, 우리는 당신의 것입니다. 이새의 아들이여, 우리는 당신과 함께할 것입니다. 평화, 평화가 당신께 있기를 빕니다. 당신을 돕는 자들에게 평화가 있기를 빕니다. 당신의 하나님이 당신을 도우실 것입니다." 그리하여 다윗은 그들을 받아들여 군대의 사령관으로 삼았습니다.
18 Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, the leader of the Thirty, and he said, "We are yours, David! We are on your side, son of Jesse. Peace and prosperity be with you, and success to all who help you, for your God is the one who helps you." So David let them join him, and he made them officers over his troops.
19 다윗이 블레셋 사람과 함께 가서 사울과 싸우고 있을 때 므낫세 사람 가운데 몇몇이 다윗에게로 도망쳐 왔으나 다윗과 그들은 블레셋 사람을 돕지 못했습니다. 왜냐하면 블레셋 지도자들이 의논한 뒤에 다음과 같은 말을 하면서 그들을 돌려보냈기 때문입니다. "저 사람은 우리를 죽여 우리 목을 가지고 제 주인 사울에게 항복할지도 모른다."
19 Some men from Manasseh defected from the Israelite army and joined David when he set out with the Philistines to fight against Saul. But as it turned out, the Philistine rulers refused to let David and his men go with them. After much discussion, they sent them back, for they said, "It will cost us our heads if David switches loyalties to Saul and turns against us."
20 다윗이 시글락에 가 보니 므낫세 사람이 다윗에게 도망쳐 와 있었습니다. 그들은 아드나, 요사밧, 여디아엘, 미가엘, 요사밧, 엘리후, 실르대인데 그들은 모두 므낫세의 군사 1,000명을 거느린 부장이었습니다.
20 Here is a list of the men from Manasseh who defected to David as he was returning to Ziklag： Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, and Zillethai. Each commanded 1,000 troops from the tribe of Manasseh.
21 그들은 다윗을 도와 적 무리를 물리쳤는데 이는 그들 모두가 용감한 군사이고 군대의 사령관들이었기 때문입니다.
21 They helped David chase down bands of raiders, for they were all brave and able warriors who became commanders in his army.
22 사람들이 날마다 다윗을 도우러 왔으며 다윗의 군사는 큰 군대가 됐습니다. 그 모습은 마치 하나님의 군대와 같았습니다.
22 Day after day more men joined David until he had a great army, like the army of God.
23 <헤브론에서 다른 용사들이 다윗과 함께하다> 하나님이 말씀하신 대로 사울의 왕권을 다윗에게 넘겨주기 위해 헤브론으로 다윗에게 온 무장한 사람의 수는 이렇습니다.
23 These are the numbers of armed warriors who joined David at Hebron. They were all eager to see David become king instead of Saul, just as the LORD had promised.
24 방패와 창을 들고 전쟁을 위해 준비한 유다 사람 6,800명,
24 From the tribe of Judah, there were 6,800 warriors armed with shields and spears.
25 싸울 준비가 된 큰 용사들인 시므온 사람 7,100명,
25 From the tribe of Simeon, there were 7,100 brave warriors.
26 레위 사람 4,600명,
26 From the tribe of Levi, there were 4,600 warriors.
27 아론 집안의 우두머리인 여호야다와 그와 함께한 사람 3,700명,
27 This included Jehoiada, leader of the family of Aaron, who had 3,700 under his command.
28 용감하고 젊은 용사인 사독과 그 집안 출신 우두머리 22명이 포함돼 있습니다.
28 This also included Zadok, a brave young warrior, with 22 members of his family who were all officers.

29 From the tribe of Benjamin, Saul's relatives, there were 3,000 warriors. Most of the men from Benjamin had remained loyal to Saul until this time.

30 From the tribe of Ephraim, there were 20,800 brave warriors, each highly respected in his own clan.
31 특별히 세움을 받아서 다윗을 왕으로 세우려고 온 므낫세 반 지파 사람 1만 8,000명,
31 From the half-tribe of Manasseh west of the Jordan, 18,000 men were designated by name to help David become king.
32 때를 알고 이스라엘이 할 일을 알았던 잇사갈 사람들 가운데 우두머리 200명과 그들 수하의 그 모든 친족들,
32 From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take.
33 모든 종류의 무기로 전쟁에 나갈 준비가 된 노련한 군인들이며 다윗만을 돕기로 한마음으로 충성을 바친 스불론 사람 5만 명,
33 From the tribe of Zebulun, there were 50,000 skilled warriors. They were fully armed and prepared for battle and completely loyal to David.
34 납달리 사람 가운데 1,000명의 장교들과 방패와 창을 가진 3만 7,000명의 군인들,
34 From the tribe of Naphtali, there were 1,000 officers and 37,000 warriors armed with shields and spears.
35 싸울 준비가 된 단 사람 2만 8,600명,
35 From the tribe of Dan, there were 28,600 warriors, all prepared for battle.
36 잘 훈련된 군인들로서 싸울 준비가 된 아셀 사람 4만 명,
36 From the tribe of Asher, there were 40,000 trained warriors, all prepared for battle.
37 모든 종류의 무기로 무장하고 요단 강 동쪽에서 온 르우벤 사람과 갓 사람과 므낫세 반 지파 사람 12만 명이었습니다.
37 From the east side of the Jordan River - where the tribes of Reuben and Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh lived - there were 120,000 troops armed with every kind of weapon.
38 충성스러운 마음으로 싸울 준비를 잘 갖춘 이 모든 용사들은 다윗을 온 이스라엘을 다스릴 왕으로 세우기 위해 굳은 결심을 하고 헤브론으로 갔으며 이스라엘 남은 백성들도 다윗을 왕으로 세우는 데는 한마음이었습니다.
38 All these men came in battle array to Hebron with the single purpose of making David the king over all Israel. In fact, everyone in Israel agreed that David should be their king.
39 그 무리는 그곳에서 다윗과 함께 먹고 마시며 3일을 보냈고 그 가족들이 그들에게 먹을 것을 보냈습니다.
39 They feasted and drank with David for three days, for preparations had been made by their relatives for their arrival.
40 뿐만 아니라 잇사갈, 스불론, 납달리처럼 먼 곳에서도 사람들이 나귀와 낙타와 노새와 황소에 먹을 것을 싣고 왔습니다. 밀가루, 무화과 과자, 건포도, 포도주, 기름, 소와 양을 먹을 것으로 많이 가져와 이스라엘 백성 가운데 기쁨이 넘쳤습니다.
40 And people from as far away as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali brought food on donkeys, camels, mules, and oxen. Vast supplies of flour, fig cakes, clusters of raisins, wine, olive oil, cattle, sheep, and goats were brought to the celebration. There was great joy throughout the land of Israel.
13.
1 <하나님의 궤를 옮기다 (삼하 6:1-11)> 다윗은 자기 군대의 모든 지도자들과 천부장들과 백부장들과 의논한 후
1 David consulted with all his officials, including the generals and captains of his army.
2 온 이스라엘 백성에게 말했습니다. "너희가 좋게 생각하고 또 우리 하나님 여호와의 뜻이라면 이스라엘 온 땅 곳곳의 성과 들에서 우리와 함께 살고 있는 제사장들과 레위 사람들을 우리에게 오게 하자.
2 Then he addressed the entire assembly of Israel as follows： "If you approve and if it is the will of the LORD our God, let us send messages to all the Israelites throughout the land, including the priests and Levites in their towns and pasturelands. Let us invite them to come and join us.
3 그런 후에 하나님의 궤를 가져오자. 사울이 다스리던 때에는 우리가 궤 앞에서 하나님께 묻지 않았기 때문이다."
3 It is time to bring back the Ark of our God, for we neglected it during the reign of Saul."
4 모든 백성들이 옳다고 생각해 온 백성이 이 일을 그대로 따르기로 했습니다.
4 The whole assembly agreed to this, for the people could see it was the right thing to do.
5 그리하여 다윗은 이집트의 시홀 강에서부터 하맛 어귀까지 온 이스라엘 백성들을 불러 모으고 기럇 여아림에서 하나님의 궤를 가져오려 했습니다.
5 So David summoned all Israel, from the Shihor Brook of Egypt in the south all the way to the town of Lebo-hamath in the north, to join in bringing the Ark of God from Kiriath-jearim.
6 다윗이 온 이스라엘 백성들을 거느리고 유다의 바알라, 곧 기럇 여아림으로 올라가서 여호와 하나님의 궤를 가져오려 했습니다. 그 궤는 여호와의 이름으로 불렸는데 여호와께서 궤 위의 두 그룹들 사이에 계시기 때문입니다.
6 Then David and all Israel went to Baalah of Judah (also called Kiriath-jearim) to bring back the Ark of God, which bears the name of the LORD who is enthroned between the cherubim.
7 그들은 아비나답의 집에서 하나님의 궤를 새 수레에 실어 옮겼습니다. 웃사와 아히오가 그 수레를 몰았습니다.
7 They placed the Ark of God on a new cart and brought it from Abinadab's house. Uzzah and Ahio were guiding the cart.
8 다윗과 온 이스라엘 백성들은 온 힘을 다해 노래와 수금과 비파와 탬버린과 심벌즈와 나팔을 연주하며 하나님 앞에서 즐거워했습니다.
8 David and all Israel were celebrating before God with all their might, singing songs and playing all kinds of musical instruments - lyres, harps, tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.
9 그들이 기돈의 타작마당에 이르렀을 때 소들이 갑자기 날뛰므로 웃사가 손을 뻗어 궤를 붙들었습니다.
9 But when they arrived at the threshing floor of Nacon, the oxen stumbled, and Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the Ark.
10 여호와께서 웃사에게 불이 일듯이 노하셔서 웃사를 치셨는데 웃사가 궤를 손으로 만졌기 때문이었습니다. 웃사는 거기 하나님 앞에서 죽고 말았습니다.
10 Then the LORD's anger was aroused against Uzzah, and he struck him dead because he had laid his hand on the Ark. So Uzzah died there in the presence of God.
11 여호와의 벌이 웃사에게 내리자 다윗은 화가 났습니다. 그래서 그곳을 오늘날까지 베레스 웃사라고 합니다.
11 David was angry because the LORD's anger had burst out against Uzzah. He named that place Perez-uzzah (which means "to burst out against Uzzah"), as it is still called today.
12 그날 다윗은 하나님을 두려워해 말했습니다. "이래서야 어찌 하나님의 궤를 내가 있는 곳으로 모셔 올 수 있을까?"
12 David was now afraid of God, and he asked, "How can I ever bring the Ark of God back into my care?"
13 다윗은 그 궤를 다윗 성 안으로 모셔 들이지 못하고 가드 사람 오벧에돔의 집으로 향했습니다.
13 So David did not move the Ark into the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed-edom of Gath.
14 하나님의 궤는 오벧에돔의 집에 석 달 동안 있었으며 여호와께서 오벧에돔의 집안과 그가 가진 모든 것에 복을 주셨습니다.
14 The Ark of God remained there in Obed-edom's house for three months, and the LORD blessed the household of Obed-edom and everything he owned.
