2 그분께서 자신의 입의 입맞춤으로 내게 입 맞추시기 원하노니 당신의 사랑은 포도즙보다 더 낫나이다.

2 THE SHULAMITE Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth--For your love is better than wine.

3 당신의 좋은 향유 냄새로 인하여 당신의 이름이 쏟아 부은 향유 같사오니 그러므로 처녀들이 당신을 사랑하나이다.

3 Because of the fragrance of your good ointments, Your name is ointment poured forth; Therefore the virgins love you.

4 나를 이끄소서. 우리가 당신을 따라 달려가리이다. 왕께서 나를 자신의 방들로 데려가셨으니 우리가 당신을 기뻐하고 즐거워하리이다. 우리가 당신의 사랑을 포도즙보다 더 많이 기억하리니 곧바른 자들이 당신을 사랑하나이다.

4 Draw me away! THE DAUGHTERS OF JERUSALEM We will run after you. THE SHULAMITE The king has brought me into his chambers. THE DAUGHTERS OF JERUSALEM We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will remember your love more than wine. THE SHULAMITE Rightly do they love you.

5 오 너희 예루살렘의 딸들아, 내가 검지만 아름다우니 게달의 장막들과도 같고 솔로몬의 휘장들과도 같으니라.

5 I am dark, but lovely, O daughters of Jerusalem, Like the tents of Kedar, Like the curtains of Solomon.

6 해가 나를 내리쬐어 내가 검기 때문에 나를 흘겨보지 말라. 내 어머니의 자녀들이 내게 노하여 나를 포도원 지키는 자로 삼았거니와 나는 내 포도원을 지키지 아니하였노라.

6 Do not look upon me, because I am dark, Because the sun has tanned me. My mother's sons were angry with me; They made me the keeper of the vineyards, But my own vineyard I have not kept.

7 오 내 혼이 사랑하는 이여, 당신이 한낮에 당신의 양 떼를 먹이며 쉬게 하는 곳을 내게 알려 주소서. 어찌하여 내가 당신 벗들의 양 떼 곁에서 곁길로 가는 자같이 되어야 하리이까?

7 (TO HER BELOVED) Tell me, O you whom I love, Where you feed your flock, Where you make it rest at noon. For why should I be as one who veils herself By the flocks of your companions?

8 ¶ 오 여자들 가운데 가장 어여쁜 자야, 네가 알지 못하겠거든 양 떼의 발자국을 따라 네 길로 나아가 목자들의 장막들 곁에서 네 염소 새끼들을 먹일지니라.

8 THE BELOVED If you do not know, O fairest among women, Follow in the footsteps of the flock, And feed your little goats Beside the shepherds' tents.

9 오 내 사랑아, 내가 너를 파라오의 병거를 끄는 말 무리에 비교하였노라.

9 I have compared you, my love, To my filly among Pharaoh's chariots.

10 보석 줄이 늘어진 네 뺨은 아름다우며 금목걸이가 걸린 네 목은 아름답구나.

10 Your cheeks are lovely with ornaments, Your neck with chains of gold.

11 우리가 너를 위하여 은 단추를 박은 금 옷자락을 만들어 주리라.

11 THE DAUGHTERS OF JERUSALEM We will make you ornaments of gold With studs of silver.

12 ¶ 왕께서 자신의 상에 앉아 계실 때에 내 나드 향유가 그것의 향내를 풍기는구나.

12 THE SHULAMITE While the king is at his table, My spikenard sends forth its fragrance.

13 내가 참으로 사랑하는 이는 내게 몰약 꾸러미가 되시나니 그분께서 밤새도록 내 젖가슴 사이에 누우시리로다.

13 A bundle of myrrh is my beloved to me, That lies all night between my breasts.

14 나의 사랑하는 이는 내게 엔게디 포도원의 고벨화 송이와 같으시도다.

14 My beloved is to me a cluster of henna blooms In the vineyards of En Gedi.

15 내 사랑아, 보라, 네가 어여쁘구나. 보라, 네가 어여쁘며 비둘기 눈을 가졌구나.

15 THE BELOVED Behold, you are fair, my love! Behold, you are fair! You have dove's eyes.

16 나의 사랑하는 이여, 보소서, 당신은 아름다우시며 참으로 쾌활하시나이다. 또한 우리의 침상은 푸르며

16 THE SHULAMITE Behold, you are handsome, my beloved! Yes, pleasant! Also our bed is green.

17 우리 집의 들보는 백향목이요, 서까래는 전나무이니이다.

17 The beams of our houses are cedar, And our rafters of fir.

1 나는 샤론의 장미요, 골짜기의 백합이로다.

1 I am the rose of Sharon, And the lily of the valleys.

2 딸들 가운데 있는 나의 사랑은 가시나무 가운데 있는 백합 같도다.

2 THE BELOVED Like a lily among thorns, So is my love among the daughters.

3 아들들 가운데 계신 나의 사랑하는 이는 숲의 나무들 가운데 있는 사과나무 같으니 내가 그분의 그늘 아래 앉아 크게 기뻐하였고 그분의 열매는 내 입맛에 달았도다.

3 THE SHULAMITE Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods, So is my beloved among the sons. I sat down in his shade with great delight, And his fruit was sweet to my taste.

4 그분께서 나를 잔칫집으로 데려가셨으며 내 위에 나부끼는 그분의 깃발은 사랑이었노라.

4 THE SHULAMITE TO THE DAUGHTERS OF JERUSALEM He brought me to the banqueting house, And his banner over me was love.

5 큰 포도즙 병으로 나를 지탱하시오며 사과로 나를 위로하소서. 사랑으로 인하여 내가 병이 났나이다.

5 Sustain me with cakes of raisins, Refresh me with apples, For I am lovesick.

6 그분께서 왼손으로 내 머리를 고이시고 오른손으로 나를 껴안으시는도다.

6 His left hand is under my head, And his right hand embraces me.

7 오 너희 예루살렘의 딸들아, 내가 노루들과 들의 암사슴들을 두고 너희에게 당부하노니 너희는 나의 사랑하는 이가 기뻐하기 전에는 그분을 흔들지도 말고 깨우지도 말지니라.

7 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, By the gazelles or by the does of the field, Do not stir up nor awaken love Until it pleases.

8 ¶ 나의 사랑하는 이의 목소리로다! 보라, 그분께서 산들 위로 뛰어 오시며 작은 산들을 뛰어넘어 오시는도다.

8 THE SHULAMITE The voice of my beloved! Behold, he comes Leaping upon the mountains, Skipping upon the hills.

9 나의 사랑하는 이는 노루나 젊은 사슴 같으시니, 보라, 그분께서 우리의 담 뒤에 서서 창문으로 들여다보시며 격자창을 통해 자신을 보이시는도다.

9 My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Behold, he stands behind our wall; He is looking through the windows, Gazing through the lattice.

10 나의 사랑하는 이께서 내게 말씀하여 이르시되, 나의 사랑, 나의 어여쁜 자야, 일어나서 떠나가자.

10 My beloved spoke, and said to me: "Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away.

11 보라, 겨울이 지나고 비가 그치고 사라졌도다.

11 For lo, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone.

12 땅에는 꽃들이 나타나고 새들이 노래하는 때가 이르러 멧비둘기 소리가 우리 땅에 들리는구나.

12 The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove Is heard in our land.

13 무화과나무는 푸른 무화과를 내며 연한 포도가 달린 포도나무는 좋은 향기를 풍기는구나. 나의 사랑, 나의 어여쁜 자야, 일어나서 떠나가자.

13 The fig tree puts forth her green figs, And the vines with the tender grapes Give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away!

14 ¶ 오 바위틈과 계단의 은밀한 곳에 있는 나의 비둘기야, 내가 네 얼굴을 보게 하라. 네 목소리를 듣게 하라. 네 목소리는 달콤하며 네 얼굴은 아름답도다.

14 "O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the secret places of the cliff, Let me see your face, Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, And your face is lovely."

15 우리를 위하여 여우들 곧 포도나무를 망치는 작은 여우들을 붙잡으라. 우리의 포도나무에 연한 포도들이 있느니라.

15 HER BROTHERS Catch us the foxes, The little foxes that spoil the vines, For our vines have tender grapes.

16 ¶ 나의 사랑하는 이는 내 것이며 나는 그분의 것이라. 그분은 백합 가운데서 양 떼를 먹이시는도다.

16 THE SHULAMITE My beloved is mine, and I am his. He feeds his flock among the lilies.

17 나의 사랑하는 이여, 날이 새고 그림자들이 달아나기 전까지는 돌이키시며 또 당신은 베데르 산들 위의 노루나 젊은 사슴같이 되시옵소서.

17 (TO HER BELOVED) Until the day breaks And the shadows flee away, Turn, my beloved, And be like a gazelle Or a young stag Upon the mountains of Bether.

1 내가 밤에 내 침상에서 내 혼이 사랑하는 이를 찾았노라. 내가 그분을 찾았으나 만나지 못하였노라.

1 THE SHULAMITE By night on my bed I sought the one I love; I sought him, but I did not find him.

2 내가 이제 일어나 도시의 거리를 돌아다니며 내 혼이 사랑하는 그분을 넓은 길에서 찾으리라, 하고 그분을 찾았으나 만나지 못하였노라.

2 "I will rise now," I said, "And go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love." I sought him, but I did not find him.

3 도시를 도는 파수꾼들이 나를 만나매 내가 그들에게 이르기를, 내 혼이 사랑하는 이를 너희가 보았느냐? 하였으나

3 The watchmen who go about the city found me; I said, "Have you seen the one I love?"

4 그들을 지나치자마자 내 혼이 사랑하는 이를 내가 만나서 그분을 붙잡고 내 어머니의 집 곧 나를 수태한 여인의 방으로 모셔 들일 때까지 그분이 가지 못하게 하였노라.

4 Scarcely had I passed by them, When I found the one I love. I held him and would not let him go, Until I had brought him to the house of my mother, And into the chamber of her who conceived me.

5 오 너희 예루살렘의 딸들아, 내가 노루들과 들의 암사슴들을 두고 너희에게 당부하노니 너희는 나의 사랑하는 이가 기뻐하기 전에는 그분을 흔들지도 말고 깨우지도 말지니라.

5 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, By the gazelles or by the does of the field, Do not stir up nor awaken love Until it pleases.

6 ¶ 몰약과 유향과 상인의 모든 향 가루로 향내를 풍기며 연기 기둥들같이 광야에서 나오시는 이분이 누구시냐?

6 THE SHULAMITE Who is this coming out of the wilderness Like pillars of smoke, Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, With all the merchant's fragrant powders?

7 그분의 침상을 보라. 그것은 솔로몬의 침상이로다. 이스라엘의 용사들 중에서 육십 명의 용사들이 그것의 주변을 둘러쌌는데

7 Behold, it is Solomon's couch, With sixty valiant men around it, Of the valiant of Israel.

8 그들은 모두 칼을 들고 전쟁에 능숙한 자들이라. 모든 자가 밤에 있는 두려움으로 인하여 넓적다리에 칼을 찼느니라.

8 They all hold swords, Being expert in war. Every man has his sword on his thigh Because of fear in the night.

9 솔로몬 왕이 자기를 위하여 레바논의 나무로 병거를 만들었는데

9 Of the wood of Lebanon Solomon the King Made himself a palanquin:

10 그것의 기둥들은 은으로, 바닥은 금으로, 덮개는 자주색 천으로 만들었고 그것의 한가운데는 예루살렘의 딸들을 위하여 사랑으로 깔았도다.

10 He made its pillars of silver, Its support of gold, Its seat of purple, Its interior paved with love By the daughters of Jerusalem.

11 오 시온의 딸들아, 너희는 나아가서 관을 쓰신 솔로몬 왕을 보라. 이 관은 그가 정혼하던 날 곧 그의 마음이 즐거워하던 날에 그의 어머니가 그에게 씌워 준 것이로다.

11 Go forth, O daughters of Zion, And see King Solomon with the crown With which his mother crowned him On the day of his wedding, The day of the gladness of his heart.

1 보라, 내 사랑아, 네가 어여쁘도다. 보라, 네가 어여쁘니 네 머리채 속에는 비둘기 눈이 들어 있고 네 머리털은 길르앗 산에서부터 모습을 드러내는 염소 떼 같구나.

1 THE BELOVED Behold, you are fair, my love! Behold, you are fair! You have dove's eyes behind your veil. Your hair is like a flock of goats, Going down from Mount Gilead.

2 네 이는 씻는 데서 나와 털을 가지런히 깎은 양 떼 같은데 이 떼는 다 쌍둥이를 낳으며 그것들 가운데는 수태하지 못하는 것이 하나도 없구나.

2 Your teeth are like a flock of shorn sheep Which have come up from the washing, Every one of which bears twins, And none is barren among them.

3 네 입술은 주홍색 실 같고 네 말은 고우며 네 관자놀이는 네 머리채 속에 든 석류 조각 같구나.

3 Your lips are like a strand of scarlet, And your mouth is lovely. Your temples behind your veil Are like a piece of pomegranate.

4 네 목은 병기를 두려고 건축한 다윗의 망대 곧 천 개의 작은 방패들과 용사들의 모든 큰 방패들을 걸어 둔 망대 같고

4 Your neck is like the tower of David, Built for an armory, On which hang a thousand bucklers, All shields of mighty men.

5 네 두 젖가슴은 백합 가운데서 먹는 쌍둥이 노루 새끼 두 마리 같구나.

5 Your two breasts are like two fawns, Twins of a gazelle, Which feed among the lilies.

6 날이 새고 그림자들이 달아나기 전에 내가 몰약의 산과 유향의 작은 산으로 가리라.

6 Until the day breaks And the shadows flee away, I will go my way to the mountain of myrrh And to the hill of frankincense.

7 내 사랑아, 네가 전적으로 어여쁘니 네게는 아무 흠이 없구나.

7 You are all fair, my love, And there is no spot in you.

8 ¶ 내 정혼자야, 레바논에서부터 나와 함께 가고 레바논에서부터 나와 함께 가자. 아마나의 꼭대기에서, 스닐과 헤르몬의 꼭대기에서, 사자의 굴들과 표범의 산들에서 바라보아라.

8 Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, With me from Lebanon. Look from the top of Amana, From the top of Senir and Hermon, From the lions' dens, From the mountains of the leopards.

9 내 누이, 내 정혼자야, 네가 내 마음을 빼앗았구나. 네가 네 한쪽 눈과 네 목의 목걸이 하나로 내 마음을 빼앗았구나.

9 You have ravished my heart, My sister, my spouse; You have ravished my heart With one look of your eyes, With one link of your necklace.

10 내 누이, 내 정혼자야, 네 사랑이 어찌 그리 어여쁘냐! 네 사랑이 포도즙보다 훨씬 낫구나! 네 향유 냄새가 모든 향료보다 낫구나!

10 How fair is your love, My sister, my spouse! How much better than wine is your love, And the scent of your perfumes Than all spices!

11 오 내 정혼자야, 네 입술은 벌집같이 꿀을 떨어뜨리며 네 혀 밑에는 꿀과 젖이 있고 네 옷의 향기는 레바논의 향기 같구나.

11 Your lips, O my spouse, Drip as the honeycomb; Honey and milk are under your tongue; And the fragrance of your garments Is like the fragrance of Lebanon.

12 내 누이, 내 정혼자는 둘러싸인 동산이요, 닫힌 옹달샘이요, 봉한 샘이로구나.

12 A garden enclosed Is my sister, my spouse, A spring shut up, A fountain sealed.

13 네 초목들은 아름다운 열매를 지닌 석류나무와 나드 향을 내는 고벨화와

13 Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates With pleasant fruits, Fragrant henna with spikenard,

14 나드와 번홍화와 창포와 계수나무와 모든 유향나무와 몰약과 알로에와 으뜸가는 모든 향료요,

14 Spikenard and saffron, Calamus and cinnamon, With all trees of frankincense, Myrrh and aloes, With all the chief spices--

15 동산들의 샘과 생수의 우물과 레바논에서 흘러나오는 시내들이로구나.

15 A fountain of gardens, A well of living waters, And streams from Lebanon.

16 ¶ 오 북풍아, 깨어라. 너 남풍아, 오라. 내 동산에 불어서 그곳의 향료를 흘려보내라. 나의 사랑하는 이가 자신의 동산에 들어오사 자신의 아름다운 열매들을 드시게 할지니라.

16 THE SHULAMITE Awake, O north wind, And come, O south! Blow upon my garden, That its spices may flow out. Let my beloved come to his garden And eat its pleasant fruits.
